Hawaii dodged the bullet, but let's remember that the largest wave in the 1960 tsunami hit Japan, not areas closer to the epicenter (Chile).

What I couldn't understand was seeing on the Internet how many people in Hawaii were lining up for gasoline to prepare for a tsunami; and many of these people probably don't even live in the evacuation zones! The people lining up for gasoline in the morning ended up clogging some of the lanes for other people trying to go to work. Wow! Pandemonium.
