Please correct me if I am wrong but Islam and Moderate?? They just do not register in my head as going hand in hand, I really doubt the so called moderates have any kind of chance not just in Tunisia, but all over the Arab world and beyond. IMHO.

The mainstream press is awfully quick to label the islamist party in Tunesia as "moderate". How do they know that? And what is a "moderate islamist" anyway? There is nothing "moderate" about the content of islamic law. So the only moderation would be to be only partially islamist.

There just is not enough lipstick in the world to put on that collossal blunder that the Western policy towards the islamic world has been until now and continues to be.

I'm curious, WilliB, as to what you think western policy toward the Islamic word should be? Should we go back to propping up dictators?
