It clearly was a genocide. Has Obama carried out any of his promises? Christopher Jon Bjerknes has written much about the Armenian Genocide.

The article is extremely selective. Looking at the bigger picture, Turkey under its islamist government is furiously backpaddeling on any recognition of the Armenian genocide. Just last week Erdogan ordered the "Monument of Humanity", the only monument honoring the Armenian victims in Turkey, to be destroyed. And the bulldozers have started already. Some kind of "increasingly commemorates..."

Erdogan objected mainly to the location of the monument, next to the Mausoleum of Hasan Harakani (a 10th century religious figure).

No Sabi. He objected to the monument. And he certainly did not suggest another location for it. Instead he ordered the bulldozers.
Nice try to spin...

Erdogan said "They have placed an abomination next to the Mausoleum of Hasan Harakani [a religious figure from the 10th century]; they erected a strange thing.”
Indeed, he is no fan of the statue, which according to the sculptor himself is of a human torn in half, but he objects to it being close to the Mausoleum.

Of course the Turkish PM like nationalist Erdogan shall never confess it or apologies that dark history, this is politics! The Turkish governmrnt is provoking a pan-turkic ideology to his people. They are using their 'brothers' suffering in east turkistan or xinjiang under Chinese rule to portray themselves were obbressors to unite domestic support! There was an old saying: When you pointing your finger at the others, three fingers will pointing back at you!

Nearly every nation back paddles from its 'nasty' past. Some don't even recognize the genocide of First nation peoples or Aborigines. When all nations can look to the past and recognize theIr horrors...

If he simply objected to the location, he could have suggested to move it. Instead, he called in the bulldozers.
Stop trying to defend that.

WilliB,
Are you suggesting that he would have called the bulldozers regardless of where the monument was?
I wouldn't be so sure, definitely not enough to base my entire opinion of this guy's attitude towards the genocide.
