The cherry on top of a decade of failure.

7 years after W's Mission Accomplished banner, terror attacks causing death and carnage are on the rise again. The US simply can't afford to keep up the occupation so I can only see headlines like this as the future for American neo-conservative's Iraq.
At the beginning of the Arab Spring we heard the voices of the islamaphobes saying all these countries would turn into the carnage we've seen post American intervention.
Only we haven't. Despite being viruently against the invasion myself, I don't think anyone, from the opposition to the war cheerleaders, expected the kind of chaos Iraq has embraced since the demise of Saddam.

"a decade of failure"
Only a decade? Iraq was some kind of paradise before the liberation?

Lots of people did. Don't you remember the reasons General Powell gave for not going into Iraq and overthrowing Saddam Hussein after the 1st Gulf War in 1991? He went around citing the Pottery Barn rule, "You break it, it's yours."

On the rise again? Do you have numbers for the year? You know how it goes, Madverts. Any stretches of peace and Iraq is completely ignored by the media. Kill 60 people, and suddenly "attacks are on the rise." On the rise because they don't happen very much anymore so when an attack happens it's going to be a rise.
Remember Iraq's attempt at an Arab spring in 1991? Saddam slaughtered 60-100k when they rose up against him. Assad is feeling pressure because his crackdown has killed - wait for it - 1,300 people!! Maybe if Ghaddafi holds onto power for another 30-40 years he'll reach Saddam's number, but the Europeans are busy bombing him on humanitarian grounds so he might not last that long.
I think you meant "had embraced." Most of the killing is over despite your best efforts to characterize Iraq as bad today as it was 7 years ago. And you'll notice there's no "Arab Spring" for Iraq today while there are protests and killings in just about every country around it. Perhaps another repeat of 1991 would be happening now, but if you don't consider the alternative then I suppose it just isn't part of the debate.

For all your contempt of "Islamophobes" you seem to be saying that it is they who were right all along, and everyone else has been misguided.
