No, this is not good. The national resevere is supposed to be an reserve for a national emergency, not a tool for politicians to play with for short tem market manipulation.
But part for the course for the current admin...

"But part for the course for the current admin..."
"The release by the International Energy Agency, a group of more than two dozen countries,..."
I didn't know the administration consisted of the IEA and two dozen countries.

Another unforced error from Team Obama.

Is US holding off digging its own oil deposits? Isn't it time to do so? I head they will do it when the Arabs run out of theirs. Could be too late by then.

What is the difference? This reserve oil is what U.S. consumes in day and a half? Big deal.

Wow. It's like Obama has realized at last that *supply and demand *is also a law, uncannily similar to certain laws of nature, but it's not a law he and other like-minded ideologues can simply lawyer up against; it's not something the media's going to automatically demonize on his behalf.Must be quite a shock for the "absolute monarch" - as one of his fellow Dems in Congress has called him - to discover there are such laws. How a little private sector experience before beginning his serial campaigns would have helped this man, America, and the world...

The price of oil has been going down for weeks already due to the economic damage that President Obama's economic policies have had on the US - and global - economy. The oil reserve is for national emergencies. The only national emergency we have is the Obama regimes Socialist economic policies.

I think it's hilarious that so many people believe Obama has control over the national economy and global commodity markets.

"think it's hilarious that so many people believe Obama has control over the national economy and global commodity markets."
You probably believed the malarkey about "jobs, millions of em, shovel ready."

In 2008 Obama said the U.S. should stop all imports of oil from the Middle East and Venezuela within 10 years.
How's that coming along? Any progress on that yet?

Nope, not yet.
