Why on earth would Obama oppose a pipeline from oil-rich Canada into the US? It would create hundreds of thousands of jobs in America and make the Suadia Arabians and Iranians and Chinese sweat. THere must be some mistake.

A shutdown has loomed every few months or so for the past few years.
It's par for the course these days.
Move along folks, nothing to see here.

(BTW, there is already a Canada-US pipeline all the way to Texas.)

Lostrune2, do you have any proof of this Canada-USA pipeline all the way to Texas?? To Texas?? It makes no sense, since Texas already has OIL, proof my dear proof. Anyway, I am glad Mr.Obama is getting Washington DC to keep on working, we need these people in DC to do their JOBS!

Are Obama supporters - the same gullible folks who fell for his "I will close Gitmo" lie - aware that the White House demanded this piece of legislation include provisions which will deny US citizens suspected of terrorism their constitutional right to a trial and will legalize indefinite detention of such suspects?
