This new initiative is very "adult-like" of Congress. As a whole, they are just as out of touch with the common folk as are the Japanese diet members.

The US Congress has the best health benefits in the WORLD! The regular Joe in America is left to fend for his or herself! For Shame! Now that one of their own gets shot in the head, they start to think about civility? Where is Michael Moore when we need a new documentary!

While lawmakers toned down the debate, the Obama administration released a study saying repeal of the existing law could threaten between 50 million and 129 million non-elderly men, women and children with denial of affordable health insurance because they have pre-existing medical conditions

Perhaps the Republicans should call it the "American-Destroying Denial of Health Care Bill," since it's really not going to destroy any jobs as surely as it will send many Americans to a much earlier grave.

Why else would conservatives want to deny Americans access to healthcare unless they were unpatriotic and hated Americans? Even Romeo will agree this has validity.

The Republicans in Congress enjoy the finest government-provided healthcare in America; now, one has even proposed disallowing firearm possession within 1,000 yards of a congressman.

When can average Americans hope to enjoy such benefits?

I wasn't aware that the Democrats and independents in Congress didn't enjoy their government provided (taxpayer funded) healthcare.

When the truth becomes obfuscated with lies, as MM's documentaries became, he cancelled out his crusade. Similar to Assange or even sarah Palin...

They're simply cranks that revel in scandal, but are 2 dimensional at best.

I doubt politics in the US will really tone down the shrieking for the long term, but anything is a step in the right direction now!

Is that to say that there is no room for intelligent, well researched and informed arguments without rhetoric, hyberbole and misinformation?

That being said I don't think it's congress's problem but more their vocal extreme left and right supporters. I don't see these groups turning down there rhetoric, childish agruing is ingrained part their of psyche. If politics in the US stays on the same course a comma is going to be needed in God Bless America. God, Bless America (they need it).

In the end it's rich and elite that walk away laughing, they've been able to fleece the American public for years and no one cares because they are to busy agruing with their perceived enemies on the otherside.
