Enough of this 'my willy's bigger than yours' nonsense!

Moscow and Beijiang were preparing their 'deterrances' as well!

Ya gotta love this nonsense "U.S. flies B-2 stealth bombers over South Korea". Or so they say they did... Really, unless they actually saw them, how would NK know this to be true. NK wouldn't see them on radar if they are true 'stealth' bombers. So now the rest of the world can drive NK crazy and tell them complete BS stories to scare and anger the NK government. I am amused.

This really is beginning to feel like two schoolkids blundering into a fight.

I do have to say that when thugs start running their mouths unchecked, they tend to start acting on their rhetoric. This I think this was a necessary step.

To be clear, I am not an advocate of escalation or of needless provocation, but the North needs to be shown what the consequences of a provocation on their part would be. The message should be"yap all you want, but one step over the line and this is what happens. Don't test us."

On another note, shutting down the Kaesong operation, taking the lose on the equip, and stopping payments would definitely get Kim's attention. It is a major source of hard currency and shutting it would put the North's economy (and WMD funding) under serious pressure.

Here it comes! Keep talking NK, you're really going to get it soon.

Knowbetter, that was my first thought, i.e., the bombers never actually flew there.

Unless they flew during the day and someone saw them, there will always be a question of whether there was a real flight.

Bring back to the skies that fabulous creation the SR-71.....the coolest way to fly over enemy territory.

And this time guys, arm it.

The message of the US is for the NK not to intimidate the US and Allies with nuclear weapon because massive retaliation from the US Air force is possible.... that Kim Der Leader should be afraid of the US airforce capability, how much more when the US Navy is added.

Kim should be reminded by this B2 fly-by that in 1962, the world stood still for one-week when 1/3 of the US Nuclear warheads (about 8,000 pieces) were up in the air at any given time ready to strike the Soviet Union. Never under estimate the resolve of the USA when it is threatened.

Kim should know that no one can ever threatened the US Air Force much more of the US Navy. The billions of dollars in research, when revealed, if ever revealed, is very scary, new weapons and weapon system ahead of our time. How much more when US Navy research is added.

This is all getting frighfully silly.

Actually, the SR-71 flew side-looking missions along borders, while the predecessor airframe, the A-12, was designed for flyover missions for the CIA in the earlier days.

Except the US actually possesses the weaponry and the ability to deliver with it unlike the NK BS festival.

Also the is a picture on CNN of the B-2 doing a flying over today as well.

It's a difficult problem. On the one hand, they should roll up this gang of thugs for the sake of the ordinary folks over there, but on the other hand, the world will then be deprived of their comedy capers. Well, it is my guess that they have stopped frothing at the mouth by now and are busy at the moment with Photoshop and creating their own fleet of stealth bombers. To add to their "fleet" of photo shopped jet fighters, drones and hovercrafts. What are these people thinking. They do not even have finger nails to scratch their butts. Ok, they managed to shoot something into orbit, at great cost. Nobody knows what it is other than that it's size resembles a small washing machine and that it is tumbling uncontrolably. It could very well be a washing machine. Someday their game will be up though and then our jaws will drop about how life was over there and how they possibly could keep up their sham for so long.

Meguroman,

"Actually, the SR-71 flew side-looking missions along borders, while the predecessor airframe, the A-12, was designed for flyover missions for the CIA in the earlier days"

As far as I'm aware that isn't correct. The A12 might actually have flown over NK (as might the fabulous SR-71 although we'll probably never know), but the Blackbird was designed to fly over enemy territory and image at altitudes and speeds that surpassed any ballistic missile technology not only of the time, but right to this very day.

Frankly I'm a petrol-head with a vague interest in machinery and incredible engineering outside of those with four wheels that I can look at and seriously admire as masterpieces. Nobody can deny the B2's advanced stealth technology and capabilities designed in the much evolved later half of the 20th century, yet the pinnacle of American Mach technology remains with the SR-71 and WW2 era designer Clarence "Kelly" Johnson's incredible savoir-faire in designing this 1960's bird, that as of today, still holds speed and altitude records that most people agree will never ever be bettered.

The B2 crews fly long missions just to get used to the long times in the seat so it wouldn't surprise me that they actually did the flight. The only reason anybody said anything about it this time is to let NK know that things can happen.

That said I'm not sure how far to push the Un before he feels that he has to do something to prove his manhood. My understanding is that the Chinese are starting to clamp down on cross-border trade with NK too. I think that's going to make more of a point.

I know Kim is a kook, but he does have the right to be pissed off. I mean, if someone sat outside on my doorstep sharpening their knife, flexing their muscles and aiming their pistol at me, I too would be pissed. I wonder how the US would deal with a situation like that. Oh yeah, Cuba. Never mind.

NK said kidnapping a lot of Americans is also planned... Big Bombers can't stop a bunch of NK sailors with burlap bags sneaking up in back of beach strollers at night in Waikiki...

Cant we insert a team quietly and just punch Kim in the face and get out before they know it?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Two barking dogs! If Kim actually did something stupid such as attacking Okinawa or Alaska, would world leaders including Japan's prime minister send in the military? Is Kim willing to sacrifice his child's life? NK is just trying to get the USA, SK or Japan to go for the bait.
