The U.S.-led coalition has been targeting oil installations across Syria controlled by the extremist group, aiming to cripple its finances.

and those of a post-conflict Syria?

Was it previously operated by Assad?

Taken over from Assad, or from other rebels who took it over from Assad.

Just like they were taking over refineries and dams in northern Iraq.

No matter what, the U.S. will be accused of destroying Syria's oil infrastructure.

Farmboy: All good questions. As for the oil refineries, (Quoted from BBC) three days ago we had officially bombed 12 refineries. The US said that the IS only control six of them, so that means we have bombed at least six Syrian owned installations. This new report seems to suggest we have bombed even more Syrian oil refineries. I also find it interesting that we can't find a single comment of what Assad is saying about any of this, I'm sure he has made statements by now.

Syrian TV hasn't said anything neither, so it's probably untrue.
