U.S. researchers say hundreds of N Korean missiles threaten Asia

Seriously? I doubt it...

And one would have to ask how many missiles (along with other goodies) are presently aimed at North Korea.

Maybe US researchers could come up with a figure?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

As a rogue state that should not exist, NK should have missiles pointed at it and not be allowed to point them back without criticism.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Was this reported with optimistic predictions that any of the missiles would hit their targets?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Yeah, I'm thinking one of the places in Asia in grave danger from these missiles is North Korea itself.

Maybe there is something that you know that the researchers don't.

Show us the proof? Pictures would help. Then we can talk.

Simply I remember this:

Fewer than 10...when the US have thousands of them. I doubt North Korea wants to be destroyed.

The U.S. Military is not worried because if they were they would not have all of those dependent spouses and children living in South Korea, Mainland Japan and Okinawa.

But bu bu butttttt...we are still trying to get hard solid evidence in regards to WMD from Iraq, maybe if all goes well we can show it in another zillion years.

NK has missiles & capabilities, yet they cannot even feed their own people. Sad but not surprising. After all, they still are recognized as one of the "Axil of Evil" nations.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

it is the U.S. assessment that North Korea has the ability to miniaturize a warhead to put on an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Right. There is a long line of U.S. assessments which would merit panic IF they were true or had any basis in reality. Emphasis on the word "if".

No. At best I think the North Koreans might be able to make an A-bomb just light enough to be carried by a B-29 at this point. Sadly for them though, their Ilyushin Il-28 bombers are the best they have and they can't carry that much.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

There is a big difference between a "nuclear device" that NK can detonate at an underground mine, fissile material for a number of nuclear weapons, and actually operable nuclear weapons. NK can launch missiles to get world attention, but there is still no proof that it even close to operational deployment of nuclear weapons, and its conventional missiles are of doubtful value (mainly obsolete, with inadeqate maintenance).

You don't say? I'd have thought everyone on the planet was aware of that...

You have to note the source: "U.S. researchers."

"Researchers" from the country with the largest military-industrial complex that likes to start wars, do false flag operations, install puppet regimes and commit other shenanigans around the world. You're right to take it with a grain of salt.

I hope if something ever happens, all the mouthy cynics will be ready to take up arms. If they can, that is.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

You were doing going until you called the doubters "mouthy cynics". You were even doing good after that.

There was no reason to be so insulting and pompous. Indeed we should be ready to defend ourselves with arms if need be, and that is why even I support having a Self Defense Force. However, we have seen America time and time again make some screams of "wolf" and then meddle or even invade. From Cuba to Iran to Vietnam to Iraq, and lots of things in between. Is the U.S. screaming about a real wolf this time? Well, history gives us serious doubts.

Japan must be analyzing its spy satellite on sky. N Korean missile factories (if any). Also to be friendly with Cuba to learn how many out of dated old old missiles Cuba sold (gypped) to N Korea instead of paying proposal of US Researcher organiztion huge consultant fees.

You are confusing the US with Russia again.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Just wait long enough and just like all Communist states North Korea will implode.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Military propaganda of North Korea is aim to prevent or delay Washington decision to attack them. Japan has nothing to worry about from the North especially when slow thinking fat loving Kim is their leader.
