On what legal basis?
MrWoody
On what legal basis were the assets even frozen? Until I get that answered, I am thinking this is a massive grey area, so I say give it to them. Just watch out for skimming by Americans because you know its going to happen.

What they are planning is simple theft. It does not matter if they dislike Gaddaffi (the same Gaddaffi that they happily made deals with yesterday). Once you go down the road of arbitrarily disrespecting ownership, where do you stop? How about freezing French and US funds for their illegal attack on an Arab country?

As America pulls out of Iraq and Afghanistan, they can drop off their military equipment on the way.

I really don't understand this "We want to do this, so we will do this" mentality. It's not even a slippery slope, it's more like a cliff. And the US complains when Venezuela or Bolivia nationalizes an industry, or a factory?

Heh, you make it sound like only Americans would do that!

I know you never bother too much with facts when they go against you, but you do realize there's a UN mandate?

Me, I kinda always thought that was the whole point of freezing the assets of rogue nations.
