What is not in the news is the opening of the ground zero mosque a few days ago. The normal suspects posting endlessly about this being an attack on american was all over this website. Six months later the center opens and not a peep. Just proves that the conservatives do not think for themselves, they just repeat what fox news and Limbaugh tells them to say. Perfect example of how empty the tea bag movement really is. Its all manufactured outrage repeated by the vast right wing echo chamber.

This, sadly enough is the world we now live in. After 9/11 the USA finally woke up from its fantasy dream the terrorism was only something that happened in OTHER countries, you know like Israel, like the UK, Lebanon etc..but when the Twin Towers came down in NYC, it was the end of our national collective fantasy. But I really praise our president elect Obama, not like that idiot EX Prez Bush! Isn't it funny that our elected president Barak Obama has enough brains to send out a few drones, ZIIIPPPP! Bang! Another AQ scum bag is dead! But as far as we all know, old George never had this idea?? I guess with friends like DICK Cheney and that ugly Rumsfeld, we should not have been surprised that they just got us bogged down in 2 wars! Thank god that Mr.Obama, our PRESIDENT and COMMANDER in CHIEF has the brains to at least tap the CIA, ask them what kind of cool toys they have and say, GO! Kill these terrorists before they kill us or escape from Guantanmo Prison there on Cuba but controlled by the USA.

Should probably read "U.S. hopes for retaliation following cleric's killing". Us Americans are definitely not all in agreement on what the war on terror is about. It sure does seem that some hope it never ends. There is gold in them thar hills!

Dear Zurcro, my guess the FBI, CIA etc..if what you say is true about this new mosque built right near ground zero in NYC, just a nice trap, have it completely bugged, under surveillance 24/7, we all now that it is the religion of peace, but you know just in case some not too peace loving brain washed Al Qaeda supporters try to go there and recruit other jihadi terrorists etc..kind of like the CHEESE for a mouse trap, I would not worry to much about that mosque near ground zero, better to worry about mosques in Detroit, San Diego and over in New Jersey etc..but I hope those are under the watchful eyes of the CIA etc..nothing against regular Muslims but we must always stay on alert and never forget, these terrorists, need to only get LUCKY ONCE! Once they do detonate a bomb etc..in their underwear, in their shoes etc..up in an airplane?? Kiss your ass good bye and be ready to become shark and fish bait if you are flying over the ocean.

I read about that, the opening of the Mosque in New York, which I would never have opposed but after all those demo's I was surprised it opened as if it was just another shop on the block. Those demo's against the Mosque were manufactured.

Over 50 percent of republicans, the whole party not just the tea bag types, thought Obama was born in Kenya. Even today with his birth certificate now public, 20% of republicans think he was born in Kenya. Another totally fake manufactured political issue meant to confuse the simple minded conservatives. It like catnip for cats. But for a large segment of the US population such lies work. As noted above Obama has now wiped out the terrorist types, including OBL, which bush had 7 years to do but did nothing. But you will hear from the limbaugh clones on this board how the US is less safe today than under bush. Facts belong to liberals I guess as republicans cannot handle the truth it seems.

There is something crazy incongruent about the US liberal world view. The death penalty at home is a no-no, and terrorists must be granted with citizens rights and coddled beyond belief.
Yet, at the same time the lib government assassinates people in foreign countries by robot killing machines... without trial, check, balances, or anybody reading anybodys rights.
Go figure...

If you believe that, you might as well believe in the Easter Bunny. Fact is, Obamas various assassinations have done nothing to put a damper on the jihad against America. Zip, zilch, nix.

No there isn't. What is crazy and terribly ignorant is the assumption that there is one "liberal world view." It's the conservatives who have to march more tightly in lock-step with each other. (Note how they loved Perry for a week before he expressed an alternative view on the treatment of the children of undocumented aliens.)
There are many liberals who can support the death penalty under quite a number of reasonable circumstances.
Many of us liberals don't find the Obama administration all that liberal. Therefore the "incongruousness" is due to the extreme narrow view of conservatives who can't tolerate a broad approach to anything.

Zurcronium - we had hoped to keep that under wraps. The media has cooperated for the most part. The mosque opened in an area close to Anthony Wiener's old district. The repub Turner used it in an and WON Anthony Wiener's old seat - whcih had been held by a Democrat for 80 plus years. The district is 3 to 1 Democrat but the repub won. Please, try to get more informed.

Didn't the U.S. just create 10 more terrorists by killing this cleric terrorist?

It took a team of 10 to bring down the towers in Manhattan. Might be good to consider what the US did to create those 10 -- and was it really worth it?

Lieberman2012, that congressional district will be eliminated in a year via redistricting, everyone knows that who follows the news. Sorry you have so little to say about the mosque being opened now, despite your many, many, many posts as it was being planned. Its tough when you can cannot cut and paste from rightwing blogs that cut and paste from the republican party that cut and paste from Rove, is it not?

.As much as it excites you the GZ mosque is not the topic. The topic is the Obama administration's fear of Al Qaeda retaliation after Obama okay'd the extrajudicial vaporising of Alwaki, in Yemen. I say good on Obama. Hooooaaaahhhh, git some, Mr President!!!!!! Apparently you are disappointed that America has one less jihadi crazy intent on seeing the country destroyed.

We got stung. So we went over and kicked the hornet's nest. A bunch of hornets came out. So we kicked the nest again. And we will keep kicking the hornet's nest until they learn dang it!

Nah bill. You got the first part right, but the days of kicking the nest are over.
Now the hornets are being targetted surgically. Individually. One by one.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide is the perfect message to be sending 'qaida now that Oussam dines with the fish. Let them feel terror, as this bastard did as he ran to his pick-up to hear the sound of the inevitable and final offering from Uncle Sam...
