No system is fail-safe. People do their best. Accidents happen. Glad she has made it through thus far.

Geez, I am Mexican and if it were my fellow Mexican rescuers doing something so stupid I would not be surprised, but Norwegians?? Not too sure what the heck these guys were thinking, not strapping this old woman on to the stretcher? Not having the stretcher properly tied to the helicopter?

Not being tied to the strecher might have saved her life. I assume the strecher does not float?

A helicopter was not used. Most likely lowered by a winch to the coast guard vessel below.

Either way was avoidable as was mentioned in the article, hope she recovers soon.

Forgot she might have also been lowered/transfered via the boarding hatch in the hull.

No report as to the cause yet(sickness or the cold water).
