I can't say I support anti-anything movies, but it is interesting to hear calls of outrage from the Muslim world that never seem to exist when their people kill in the name of Islam...

outrage from the Muslim world that never seem to exist when their people kill in the name of Islam…" Ain't that ironic.... I have yet to hear any major cleric calling for objection to the terrorist tactics of AQ or any other MAJOR Islamic group... maybe we have all been fooled into believe AQ and groups of such are REAL and most others are not

Funny thing here is why the hell is the UN involved in it?

Why would they be so offended anyway? Its just historical point of view.

Not to worry.... the film has already been removed from Liveleak because of serious death threats. How good to know that islam is so peacefull... otherwise, we have reason to worry, wouldn`t we.

already been removed" I can't believe that. How many films have been out there for eons that have had offensive overtones?

I personally feel that far too many people have been walking on egg shells in regards to being fearful of offending Islam.. Most of the countries in the EU allow Muslims to bring in multiple wives, even though polygamy is a crime. Colleges are having Muslim only gym hours; oh and pools too. The Olympics is allowing Muslims to wear special clothes.. Schools in New York, London and a few other cities have Muslim Student only outings yet the people of the west are still told they a lot more to go in being considered tolerant societies...

    Go figure

    "Fitna" is posted on YouTube.

I know about three Muslim people I've met in Japan, on academic circles. They are nice and kind. However, because I apparently resemble people from the Middle East (I am not) and I don't cover my hair, I have been glared at by Muslim women I've seen at bus stops and the Mall, some even calling their children to stay away from where I stand. Not all do though. A mother I see regularly at a bus stop during weekdays smiled at me, but she also looks confused. Her child talked to me, but I didn't understand the language so she knows that at least I am not from their lands. I am curious as to why Muslims do not raise their voices against Muslim extremist groups, or how would Muslim people that try to do so are treated by their groups. Just because I get glared at, I guess there is a reason for concern about moderate or non-practicing Muslim people. One of the Muslims I know is an online friend, an American girl of African descent. She says in her city she doesn't feel threatened for not covering her hair, yet she prays five times a day but she says she is a Moderate. Sometimes she says, scattered people have a harsh word, but not as often as to be a concern. Here in Asia, just from my looks I seem to be "shunned" by Muslim women. What is really this "peaceful" Islam like? I can only wonder, so far.

Hmmm. Now I haven't seen the film, but I'm pretty sure its a piece of filth.

But he last time I checked, my right to free speech includes my right to offend. If it didn't, then it really wouldn't be very free now would it?

Further, am under no civic obligation to like or respect Muslims, or Christians. And I have every right to let them know that, if that is what I think. It seems pretty cleat that is just what this Right wing nut-job group thinks of Islam.

Now, they don't have the right to spread lies about Islam (that's called libel or slander). But I feel very uncomfortable with this whole situation. You have the two jerk-offs extremists camps with absolutely no respect for our laws and customs of tolerance cynically abusing our system to further their distgusting attempts to bring down that system.

    Something must be done.

    Bollocks to the fundies.

They just need to lighten up and laugh at themselves.

  • Nordon at 04:24 AM JST - 30th March

Are Muslims around the world offended that everyone else would call all those horrible acts perpetrated by extremists shown in Fitna bad?

Where were their voices when these happened?

Or are they more offended that their religion is judged at all, and that it is therefore immune to criticism?

Geert Wilders is a racist fanatic. Imagine some KKK member making a documentary on how barbaric the Africans are.
