Does it really matter that the UN is investigating both Iran and Syria's nuclear activities? If they find something they won't actually do anything about it.

“In order for the agency to complete its assessment, Syria needs to be more cooperative and transparent,” said the IAEA in a document that detailed repeated attempts by agency inspectors to press for renewed inspections and documents—all turned down by Damascus.

Drawing heavily on language of previous reports, the Iran document said Tehran has not “cooperated with the agency ... which gives rise to concerns and which need to be clarified to exclude the possibility of military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear program.”

That's because they know how the game is played. The burden of proof is on these nations to show that the nuclear material they're handling can't be used for military purposes. If they block the investigation then they know nothing can be proved either way. Since they understand public perception erroneously places the burden of proof on the accusers then all they have to do is continue to do what they're doing. Just deny verification and people will say nothing can be proven either way and the world will sit on their hands while you develop your nukes.

Agreed. But what are you suggesting? We all know what happened last time a certain country insisted the burden of proof was NOT on the accusers, but on the accused, and there turned out to be no WMDs at all.

Well as far as Syria is concerned Israel went ahead and forced them to comply against their will. The US did it with Iraq. Iran? We'll just have to wait and see.

"It also said Syria continued to deny cooperation with North Korea in building its nuclear program."

The entire world knows the Kim crime family and the whack North Korean Stalinists are selling nuke secrets and materials. One of these two countries should be made an example of to show the other...
