protesting is not a crime

Absolutely not. This is one of their individual right guaranteed by the Amend.1 from the Bill of Rights.
Freedoms, Petitions, Assembly
These protesting groups are quite different. They have a clear objectives and goals in mind. They are not looking for troubles.
I am sharing weblink here, so you can read the most updated news about it.

"the liberal group MoveOn.org"
That group is bad for America.

This demonstration is quite different from others in the past. There are no party line, no leader but they tweet each other.
These listed below are protesting in many cities in US.
Students who cannot find jobs. Jobless workers who lost their houses. Senior citizens who cannot pay bills. Workers whose 401k investment for retirement shrunk (60% of 401k investors lost some). They are the Mainstreet people against the Wall Street crooks.
They are protesting and trying to stop a CRIMINAL IMMUNITY (PARDON) request for the Wall Street crooks who tank US into bankruptcy.

Serrano, your comment here is missing reasoning and conclusion. Why so?

America is becoming more like Greece every day. The Socialists will hit the streets and demand that the government give them more; which of course would put the country ever more in debt and create permanently high unemployment and drive businessws away. 50% of Americans are already getting a check from the government every month. How many more handouts can the half of the nations taxpayers provide to the half that pay nothing?
Let's just hope that there are enough sane people left in the US to pull the country back from the brink of collapse. I do not begrudge these "protestors" the right to cause a ruckus. But they are protesting the wrong street. They should try protesting on Pennsylvania Avenue instead. They are the ones that created the mess in the first place.

globalwatcher, for starters, MoveOn.org supports Obama for re-election, and that's bad for America. Heck, even Obama has admitted the country is not better off than before he was immaculated.

You are right, Walfpack. I guess there are three streets in US.
The Wall Street, Pennsylvania Avenue and Main Street. LOL.

The financial meltdown that caused a world-wide recession several years ago wasn't caused by Bankers, it was caused by the Administration? Is that what you're saying? What planet did you just arrive from?

Obama has admitted the country is not better off than before he was immaculated.
Serrano, the main objective of Obama's speech in Dallas yesterday is that the Republicans are blocking American Jobs Act to pass
The Rep. are not willing to come back to the table with their own version of Job Act while the Democrats did with their modified version of Job Act proposal to the President yesterday.
There are many Americans who are financially struggling here in US. We need to pass this act.
If the republicans do not like Obama's proposal, then republicans need to come back. They need to modify or resubmit their own Job Act version to Obama. It is so shame many are not really informed what's going on behind the curtain in Washington.
The Republicans need to start behaving like civilized politicians as they were elected to do. They produce NOTHING.

Serrano, I forgot to add whey we need to pass this American Jobs Act now. He is trying to prepare jobs for troops returning from from Afganistan and Iraq. Of course he is doing this for the Mainstreet jobless people here in US. So that these people will be able to continue living with dignity and pride. We owe it to them.

The Republicans do not care about us vets.

I'm glad the unions have finally taken up this cause.
This is the origin of all labor abuses — at the very top salaries and top management, the point from which the nation's wealth is supposed to 'trickle down'.

Jared, I agreed. Many social programs for Vets were introduced by Democrats.

Camping in NYC for two weeks is a tough one to handle. Toilets are not user friendly. But the Sabrett hot dog carts are. Sure could use a dirty water dog right now with the works.

Wall Street backed Obama in the last election. Why are the people playing protester not in DC? Goldman Sachs lurvs Obama.Obama lurvs Goldman Sachs...

The main point of the speech was to tell more lies to the American public.
The Daily Beast: "Barack Obama continued his sales blitz across the country Tuesday, touting his jobs plan and scolding Republicans in Congress more than once to "pass this bill."
"There was only one rather embarrassing problem: his $447 billion proposal was blocked in the Senate - by his fellow Democrats."

we are th 99%
1000 people does not sound representative of 99% of american tax payers. A lot of idealistic college students here who are not in the job pool.

Their success will depend on how well they can craft their message and who leads it. If the show a lot of screaming kids or Michael Moore giving a lot of empty speeches then they are doomed to fail. Advertising for groups like MoveOn.org is a bad idea as well. They need an intelligent messenger who is not polarizing.

techall, many of them who seek higher education are they want to be a problem solver. Some of them want to be like Steve Jobs of Apple with full of hope, dream and future in life.
Their investment (time, money, effort) has been already committed. They need jobs. I can understand their motivation in protesting. FYI

Serrano, sound like you never had any bad investment experience with the Wall Street, didn't you? Experience is the best teacher.
The General Attorney has been investigating all Wall Street wrong doings since 2008. The truth will come out shortly. That's the reason the Wall Street crooks are now requesting the CRIMINAL IMMUNITY to all 50 states now.
If the wrong doings are found and truly committed, they need to be prosecuted as well as everyone else. Good citizen should be awarded and bad citizens should be punished in criminal law.
Americans have been cheated by the Wall Street hedge fund managers so called "Deadly Derivative cocktail" that nobody understand how it works. The Wall Street needs to get rid of "garbage" out.
As far as banking industry, there are so many hidden charges on credit cards. The Bank of America has just introduced $5/month for a debit card use. If you use ATM, there is a charge. If you overdrawn, then there is another charge. American consumers are all fed up with bankers abuses for years.
That is one of the objectives that the protestors are trying to change. Serrano, you are on the wrong side of street with a bunch of crooks. I see your investment, if any, will disappear gradually and you will wonder why so.

And yet it was Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (D) that refused to allow O'bama's bill to be debated on the Senate floor. A Democrat blocked O'bama's bill.

Those aren't the students who are wandering aimlessly protesting.

arrestpaul, the Dem. has just presented their own version of the American Jobs Act yesterday while the Rep has no plan to do so. Both parties (Congress) have to bring their own proposals, as they were elected to do, to the President ( Executive branch). This is a part of process. FYI

There is no requirement that both parties bring their own version of a bill to the same House. Both parties can change or add to Bills by adding amendments. The "other" party does have the option of presenting their own version of a bill.
Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (Democrat) has now BLOCKED Obama's job bill from coming to the Senate floor - TWICE. Reid either doesn't have enough Democrat support to pass the bill or Reid doesn't think much of Obama's job bill.
