Oh my. These are not the actions of a Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

Add to this that Israeli nuclear powered (and armed?) submarines have been deployed to the same region, and that US & Russian subs have almost collided several times in the Baltic in recent weeks, I think it would be fair to say that H.E. The President is going to prove to the world that this peace prize was most assuredly not-deserved.

Gulf ups defenses in 2010s. What can be done? Start arms limitations.

I'd like to know where those other 6 Patriot Missile batteries were. I see that this is put in place in defense against any Iranian action against their neighbors. But, it appears that the other posters here don't want the US to ensure that Iran doesn't attack their neighbors.
Going by the above posts, the US needs to take our Patriot Missiles batteries and bring them home. It Iran attacks another country, big deal. They can protect themselves. Matter of fact, bring home all of our troops from all countries in 3 years. Protect yourself. < :-)

Utterly stupid. Rather than destroying Iran's nuclear facilities and ending any threat, we're providing Islamic Gulf countries who hate the U.S. with state-of-the art military technology. How many times has the U.S. done this only to have it bite them in the end? Iran's nuclear facilities could be eliminated in a week by air with minimal casualties. How emboldened the Iranian Mullahs must be watching the U.S. do nothing about their nuclear program other than scrambling to set up some defensive measures.

Helter Skelter,
Iran's nuclear facilities could NOT be eliminated in a week by air with minimal casualties. Iran learned lessons from the first time Israel bombed one of their nuclear facilities. Now, Iran hides them deep underground, either close to populated areas (which itself is despicable, using their own citizens as human shields) or on heavily-protected military bases. And those facilities are now dispersed all over the country, not centralized in just a few places.

Israel has never bombed an Iranian nuclear facility. Perhaps you're thinking of Iraq. I don't know the logistics of all the nuclear facilities in Iran. I believe civilian casualties could be minimized with targeted strikes, but you're correct in that there will be casualties. So be it.
