I've said from the beginning that dick cheney was a bold faced liar out to enrich his pockets off the backs of Americans.

I said that I thought that he was a traitor to the American people for his part at attacking Iraq.

Now I get this story. May be old to you, but it's new to me. dick cheney and Halliburton selling nuclear technology to Iran.

    I don't make this stuff up. < :-)

Texas, I said the troops will go home, but the US missiles and missile shields will stay of course. In your last paragraph you mention many clans and tribes that have been in that region for hundreds of years, before the US even existed. The US has nothing to do with them. The Israelis do have many valid points, but they can't just push their allies to act unilaterally.

Nuclear weapons are actually easier to stop than many think because the radioactivity associated with them is easy to detect from far away, but if Iran were to sneak one into a neutral or US/Israel all hell would break loose over there. We're lucky the Russians haven't taken any sides like they did with Cuba for a while, otherwise we're looking at WW3.

Wow, sorry about that. Forgot the link. < :-)

    sabiwabi,

No, they'll leave a few aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf to be sacrificed.

Hmm...interesting to see you finally entertaining the idea that Iran wants to possess nuclear weapons. What changed your mind?

Olmert and Nettedyahoo have both been campaigning aggressively to get Western nations to attack Iran.

Could I see some links to either of these two people aggressively campaigning to get Western nations to attack Iran. I certainly have seen many leaders warning of perceived dangers of a nuclear armed Iran. But, please show us your links to this information you are talking about.

skipthesong - Isreal has picked up george bush's rally against Iran" Excuse me, but I may have been young, but hasn't the US been having problems with Iran since 79'?

I still don't get it why so many are cheering the fact that Iran is doing this as though its a third quarter touch down. I am sure none of us would like to see the fourth quarter played out.

Olmert and Nettedyahoo have both been campaigning aggressively to get Western nations to attack Iran. " Well gee, if you can't get help from your neighbors, you have to get mothers @!$%ers from the other side of town. How many kilometers going east does Israel have an ally, and since its inception? Iran too has been campaigning aggressively to get more and more Islamic support, even reaching out to Sunnis.

skipthesong - Isreal has picked up george bush's rally against Iran" Excuse me, but I may have been young, but hasn't the US been having problems with Iran since 79'? Ummm, Iran has said the want to annihilate the Israeli state, and that is enough reason to pick up...a rally against Iran. Guess what people, Iran and the US arent the only ones watching Iran closely.

As news spread across the world of Iran’s provocative missile tests, so did an image of four missiles heading skyward in unison. Unfortunately, it contained one too many missiles, a fact that had not emerged before the photo appeared on the front pages of The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune and several other newspapers as well as on BBC News, MSNBC, Yahoo! News, NYTimes.com and many other major news Web sites.

As the above illustration shows, the second missile from the right appears to be the sum of two other missiles in the image. The contours of the billowing smoke match perfectly near the ground, as well in the immediate wake of the missile. Only a small black dot in the reddish area of exhaust seems to differ from the missile to its left, though there are also some slight variations in the color of the smoke and the sky.

Does Iran’s state media use Photoshop? The charge has been leveled before. So far, though, it can’t be said with any certainty whether there is any official Iranian involvement in this instance. Sepah apparently published the three-missile version of the image today without further explanation.

"Is the United States going to stop all their weapons testing?"

    You'd like that, wouldn't you?

  • adaydream at 01:21 AM JST - 11th July

So Sarge you expect Iran to stop testing their weapons systems?

    US fires missiles.

    US works on mini-nukes.

    Isreal plays it's war games.

And you people think Iran should stop firing their missiles.

The US goes into Czech. and wants to place our weapons systems there.

The US is escalating this war on terror. < :-)

  • DXXJP at 05:19 AM JST - 11th July

Sarge doesnt understand that. He thinks because dubya spouted off then its truth, and the world should bend a knee. Some day he might understand. But in the mean time sarge, when or if the US goes at it with Iran are you going to pony up and march. Don't give me "Im too old", Im sure there will be older Iranians than you fighting for their rights.

  • HonestDictator at 06:35 AM JST - 11th July

Heck, nothing wrong with Iran blasting a few missles for testing. let them waste $$ firing test missiles. Just hope they don't foul up and "accidently" send it in the wrong direction.

The US shouldn't really care, just keep tabs on where the missiles are heading. If they start heading off to a non harmless direction, then its going to be time to act.

  • Sarge at 07:25 AM JST - 11th July

You know, it really ticks me off to hear my own countrymen, adaydream and DXXJP, blame our country for the actions of a rogue state like Iran.

HonestDictator - The trouble is, once Iran's missiles start heading off to a non-harmless direction, it's too late for the people in that direction.

  • kinniku at 08:24 AM JST - 11th July

The truth is this particular incident is not really a big development. The Iranians were planning these war games for some time now. I think all sides need to ratchet down their dialog and take a few steps back. The Supreme Council also needs to shut up Ahmadinejad. If he has no authority over foreign affairs, he should not be opening his mouth about them so much.

  • HonestDictator at 05:44 PM JST - 11th July

Understandable Sarge, but even at the cost of others it would give the absolute right to take aggressive action against Iran. Currently its just boisterous posturing by Iran.

As it stands, the rule of the one who throws the first punch is at fault. Let Iran keep up, and if they start a fire, then there will be no doubt who started up the fight.

  • HonestDictator at 05:46 PM JST - 11th July

In other words Sarge some things you can prevent, but at the same time its best to let things run their course to win in the long run without being questioned.
