Afghans have presidential elections coming.
Prince Abdul ali seraj, great grandson of a king, who ruled in 1880s/1890s, is running for president.
Article on aopnews.com today says also, that he can be good president, as he can give 95 percent compassion for afghan people.
Afghans should vote him for next president.
He looks like good choice for future administration and will help reduce the violence there.

It's no wonder that tribes still welcome the Taliban into their areas. They are safer among the Taliban then they are around us. That's quite disturbing. < :-)

I don't suppose we'll see the liberals here complaining about the increase in the deaths of U.S. troops and Afghan civilians, now that we've got a peace president...

Sarge - "I don't suppose we'll see the liberals here complaining about the increase in the deaths of U.S. troops and Afghan civilians, now that we've got a peace president..."
Sarge, if you had got with the program 7 long years ago, you would have realized way back then that America INVADED THE WRONG COUNTRY.
But unlike the vast majority of your countrymen who are paying attention, you didn't actually realize that, and most shockingly, still don't seem to get it. :-)

Welcome to Obamas war!
But don´t forget, the war spending is now a "stimulus" and therefore a good thing.
Never say that paradigms don´t change...

WilliB: You're sounding more and more like a broken record.
I have just one simple question for you (since you couldn't answer mine the other day). When did this war start?

WilliB at 11:45 PM JST - 1st March Welcome to Obamas war!
That's a pretty inane statement.
george bush took us into Afghanistan rightfully, but decided to wage a war somewhere else.
Do you have something of substance to contribute?
We've been at war for 7 years and I've heard the statement all my life "war is good for the economy", what happened? So please explain how the spending on the war is good for country. < :-)

But daydream when Bush was President you were against the US even being in Afghanistan. What changed?

daydream:
No, it is a factual statement. Obama not only inherited it, he campaigned on expanding that, and is doing exactly that now, by sending 17,000 more troops (and more to follow) on a wild goose chase in Afghanistan.
It is OBAMAS WAR, and see how splendidly it is going.

Shall I restructure the statement like this, george bush ran the war in Afghanistan for over 6 years and leave office a miserable failure.
Barack Obama inherited a collossal mess. Obama has only been in office for 1 month and in this time he has already formulated a stradegy for actually fighting the war and working toward an end to it.
Bringing home 142,000 troops in Iraq and sending 17,000 to Afghanistan to end a war is an honest attempt to bring all our troops home. < :-)

SuperLib get your facts correct. I was for going to Afghanistan because the Taliban attacked us. I was for doing our job and getting the hell out.
I was against the war in Iraq from the first time the "Axis of Evil" crossed george bush's lips.
george bush took the act of war against the Taliban and created his war against terrorism around the world and waged a personal war against Iraq.
I was for punishing the Taliban for killing 3000 innicent Americans. I was against allowing a war mon ger like george bush going into Iraq and losing over 4000 innocent American lives, over 50,000 wounded American servicemen and women, over 500,000 innocent Iraqi civilians, 2.5 million refuges, 1,000,000 parentless children and a cost that gets exponentially every day above $2Trillion, including reconstruction, and the care for the wounded for the rest of their lives.
I was for doing the job in Afghanistan.
I was against a boondoggle in Iraq to enrich dick cheney and his ilk.
Get it right. < :-)
