Thanks for this clarification. Last Friday I pointed out that not naming the country who did this was all a bit chicken shxt. Glad to see there has been some follow up regarding this.
Pretty disappointing to find out that it was again our American cousins who blew the deal.

Don't you mean your German cousins who blew the deal? Based on this article this entire scenario involving the stolen trucks was created by the Germans and the decision to hit the target was ultimately made by the German commander ordering the strike. It was only incidental that a US pilot was the one who dropped the ordnance.
USN. In five years time, however, who is going to remember that the Germans dropped the ball? American bombs and American pilots will (unfortunately) be what goes down in history.
Germans not lost any of the touch they had back in 1939.Talk about force multiplier!
Let the enemy steal tanker trucks full of petrol, have the USAF boys bomb the siphoning party and then blame the Yank command.Brilliant!
They shouldn't be fighting over this, since they both clearly screwed up. Sounds like it's just turning into a bunch of finger-pointing. Whomever they think is to blame (they both are), it won't change the outcome that a whole lot of innocent people died (or in the words of the US commander, "we're wounded"). Perhaps a little more work BEFORE you drop the bombs?
I was disgusted (again) to see some spokesman saying that this was just part of war and "It happens...". Midnight, you are correct--The blood is now on Obama's hands!

The Wehrmacht they're not. Just like the JGSDF aren't the IJA.

Without that ground and air conformation there shouldn't be these air strikes.
It isn't like everybody over that hill are the Taliban, period. See a body moving, kill it.
There are just too many civilians. You got to be more selective with your attacks. < :-)

Obama and Biden should be tried as war criminals.
