Ha ha, US taxpayers have been taken for a ride yet again.

I would be interested to know whether any Bush supporters on JT knew this embassy was going to cost this much - or that the cost will be added to the ever-increasing bill that their grandkids will be burdened with in 50 years time because the Bush administration has toasted $6 TRILLION in just 8 years.

The payment will come due when interest rates start rising and rising...and rising.

It's also interesting - America's biggest embassy is a "fortress-like compound."

That must be testament to how well the US is doing in that country. LOL!

Only 14 more days before Bush gets tossed onto the trash heap of history.

January 20 can't come fast enough :-)

“The building of this site would not be possible without the courageous decision by President Bush to liberate Iraq,” said Talabani, a Kurd. “This building is not only a compound for the embassy but a symbol of the deep friendship between the two peoples of Iraq and America.”

ha ha ha ha!! I'm ashamed to say there are still people out there who will think 'Hey! He's right!' :-)

Build by a copmpany named First Kuwaiti General Trading and Construction. This company has made hundreds of millions on U.S. Government contract since the occupation started. Several Army contracting officers have been found (or pleaded) guilty of accepting bribes from First Kuwaiti executives.

Obama comes in to office, sells the place for 2 billion to Iraq and rents it back for a buck fifty per year like they do with Guantanamo.
