Some detainees will be held without trial --> this is against the United States constitution.
They must be all be given a fair trial with all information heard. -If they must be set free because the Gov screwed up the case, -that is their fault and not the responsibility of the detainee.

The DOJ(the Department of Justice), DOH(Department of Homeland Security), and the US Military, are NOT gonna give all 229 detainees a trial, although they are likely to keep most of them detained in some possible state-prisons for a particular period.
To me, throwing another millions of dollars in upgrading the prisons, as well as keeping the detainees behind bars until the critical decisions, are more than an offset by prosecuting a very small numbers of high-profile terror suspects who may have a deep connection with bin-Laden, Taliban, the al-Qaida or any Arab terrorist groups.

There goes the argument some conservatives make that Obama is continuing Bush's policies with Guantanamo. It just proves they were clearly talking out of their ass like they always do. Well maybe not so clearly but rather a garbled doublespeak.

Obama still claims that some detainees will never be brought to trial and others will never be released even if charges brought are later dropped.

Lock them up in Fort Leavenworth, KS. < :-)

I say lock them up in medium security prisons in Sarge and Sailwind's hometowns.
They seem to be certain that EVERY Gitmo inmate is a criminal despite evidence being nearly completely the opposite, ha ha.

Yep, just like Bush's position. But ultimately something has to be done with these people. I don't see Obama getting any closer to answering that question than Bush was. And I personally don't have a clue, either.

Superlib - "And I personally don't have a clue, either."
It's comments like this made by people who support indefinite lockup of Gitmo inmates that underlines just how badly bush and co. screwed up - and highlights how massive a problem they have created due to their own stupidity, lack of forethought and shoddy planning.

What a Farce!
US conservatives are freaking themselves out about a bunch of guys in Gitmo who they do not know and simply cannot prove whether they are guilty or not.

Sushi, Gitmo is a holdin' tank for a lot of countries includin' your own.
Anyway, all of us've done a lot of catch and release as far as these guys go. Kinda, like bass fishin'.
And nobody's 'freakin' out'.

Those people in gitmo were rounded up on a battlefield in a warzone so this they might be innocent people crap is just a plane old lie and even obama knows how dangerous they are. More then a few that have been released have already killed other people in terrorist attacks.

You're wrong. From a report on Guantanamo detainees compiled form an analysis of US DoD data -
Only 5% of the detainees were captured by United States forces. 86% of the detainees were arrested by either Pakistan or the Northern Alliance and turned over to United States custody.
This 86% of the detainees captured by Pakistan or the Northern Alliance were handed over to the United States at a time in which the United States offered large bounties for capture of suspected enemies.
Don't like your neighbour? Hand him over to the US, and get paid for it.
Got a grudge against an old mate? Hand him over to the US, and get paid for it.
A very large number of the detainees were not plucked from any battlefield in any war zone. the suggestion that they all were is 'just a plane old lie'. http://law.shu.edu/publications/guantanamoReports/guantanamoreportfinal208_06.pdf

And the taliban ran from the American forces in to where again? ooh yeah Pakistan. And most of the people at gitmo were actually released and most of them are back in terrorist groups as we speak. They arent a bunch of innocent nice guys who got horribly unlucky, thats a falshood.
