"met little resistance from insurgents"
The insurgents are hiding out for the next 18 months.

And so for every attack on Afghan/coalition forces from here on out the following will appear: "Still hiding, Sarge?"

yabits - Well, of course, the insurgents are going to harrass the Afghan/coalition forces from time to time during the next 18 months. Otherwise they'd get bored to death.

Just realized my last post was not phrased very well. It could be construed to mean that that Afghan/coalition forces are incompetent, which they are not. I wanted to say that although there will be successful attacks on the insurgents during the next 18 months, I seriously doubt they'll be completely wiped out, and after 18 months, when U.S. forces begin to withdraw as per Obama's orders, unless Afghan forces are up to the task...

Never sell our Marines short, we have developed new offensive munitions that are designed to cope with caves and the Marines will be delivering the goods during this present purge. Golly, I wish I could be there, but they won't take us oldsters, but we are here to cheer them on. God Bless them all.........

Go for it. Offense away... Good to hear about the other Europeans stepping up also. It's not a time to sit on the fence but to muster together and give it our all to hit these guys where it hurts. Afghans need this as much as we do if not more so.

Since the other European nations are stepping up, seems the rift between them and the US is narrowing.
