Remember when the US sold weapons to Afghanistan? Now its come back to haunt them. Remember when they sold weapons to Iraq all those years ago? That came back to haunt them too. I wonder what will happen if Taiwan decides not to be friends with the US anymore?

"Remember when the US sold weapons to Afghanistan? Now its come back to haunt them."

1979 issue rifles and bullets? If you say so.

Question: Had the invading Soviets succeeded in Afghanistan would glasnost and perestrokia have come about?

"Remember when they sold weapons to Iraq all those years ago? That came back to haunt them too."

I believe the US sold to Iraq less than one percent of all the weapons Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard ever had at its disposal. Whatever the figure, it was way, way below what the French and the Russians peddled up until the last moment possible.

"I wonder what will happen if Taiwan decides not to be friends with the US anymore?"

They'll turn on their own people like the Iraqis and Afghanis do? I rather doubt it.

I guess we'll just take them out like we did with your other two examples? :)

Europeans don't like it when you talk to them that way. It reminds them of their double standards and that doesn't make them very happy.

Great Taiwan will have some more deterent from attack from China, but does it need it with the direction Ma has been taking? He seems to be giving in on every issue since even KMT Lee was president. Bowing to Beijing on every issue. Taiwan is in a tight situation and no one knows what is going to happen and what direction Ma will take Taiwan or who will get ahold of some of our technology with Ma's bending over backwards to please China
