Everytime Syria/Russia stops the pressure on these "moderate rebels" (McCain's Army) they are rearmed/resupplied and the fighting and deaths only get worse. The pressure needs to be increased and the Obama-backed terrorists forced out.

"the plan depends in part on whether Russia is willing to press Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, its ally, to stop bombing them, Many U.S. officials and outside experts doubt Moscow is willing to do that." - article

The region is no longer ruled by a nation-state or territory.

What part of the Middle East hasn't become a city by city battle over an opinion about the unknowable?

What does Putin have to gain?

So far, everything that's supposed to put Bush's Genie back in the bottle fails.

(The Genie granted Halliburton's wish)

What is the end game for the Middle East?

Just bomb the living hell out of everybody for years on end. Yeah, that'll work. Worked great in Vietnam didn't it? More bombs dropped there by America than in all of WWII in all theaters. And oh what success! But, ya know, call me a "conspiracy theorist" but I don't think the actual plan is to solve anything. I think the plan is inventing a demand for bombs, so as to sell bombs and make a mint. How ironic that the Russians would drop them on marketplaces! Well, I guess the kids there were not buying and selling bombs, just getting freebies from the Russians!

Although Russia says it has targeted Islamic State, most of its strikes have been on the U.S.-backed moderate rebels

That's cause Putin knows what he's doing. Obama is soft. The administration has already been sidelined by russia. Putin can read Obama like an open book. The commander-in-retreat will do nuthing. Look how the US sailors were dissed by Iran when they were captured. The mullahs can read Obama too.

That's cause Putin knows what he's doing.

Do you know what he is doing? If you did and had any heart at all, I would think your responses would seem less approving and self-congratulatory. And American sailors dissed by Iran? Man. You have some whacky priorities. I guess that since Putin is not dropping bombs on your family's heads, smugness is a luxury you can afford.

About time Uncle Sam realize that Saddamizing and Qaddafiing Assad is not the solution.

Toppling governments of foreign nations by force should no longer be an American Dream .

Remember when USA used to support despots like Pinochet, Marcos, Mubarak, Mobutu Sese Seko, etc.

Those were the days.............
