    Personally, I think they're actually trying to strike a deal to stop the Taliban slaughtering everyone that doesn't adhere to their insane version of Islam, and possibly extract NATO from Afghanistan as quick as possible.

    But that's just me.

    Well, gosh, if only the Bush administration had talked to the Taliban, this war could have been avoided. But wait - they did! Unfortunately the Taliban just thumbed their noses.
    Well, maybe Obama will have better luck - maybe the Taliban have undergone an attitude adjustment after getting their butts kicked for the past 10 years.
