Bring the troops home!!!!

Iraqi officials said Thursday, insisting all the dead were civilians. The U.S. military said six were al-Qaida militants but acknowledged children were killed.

So my pro-war advocates. Who's telling the truth?

adaydream: I think US military presumed these children as 'would be' terrorists and .... Don't know how many more innocent lives will be sacrificed before troops return home.

When

...any innocent civilians are injured, resulting from terrorists locating themselves in and around them....

there is usually another cause which is more directly responsible for the result.

Yet another U.S. airstrike, more kids/civilians killed. This is beyond comical, it's downright sickening. Get the troops out of there.

I'm amazed the slime machine hasn't started calling thre kids they kill as "al-Qaida in Iraq".

Everybody else who is detained/shot/blown up seem to be.

These are the so-called democratically elected Iraqi officials, I'd like to add, but I have no doubt that simply because they are Muslim some people on this board will happily put them into the camp of 'terrorists' and say that they can only be lying to cover things up. Some on here will make up excuses like AQ hiding behind kids, but the fact of the matter seems to be that the US simply attacked and killed a bunch of innocents. If the moronic right is going to come on here and proclaim the people making these quotes about innocents being killed is the work of terrorists, they are going against their own arguments that they have brought democracy to Iraq. So which is it? It's not boolean logic, it's fact. You say the US liberated Iraq and instilled democracy, so you can't say the democratically freed people are lying because they have no democracy.

1proudamerican - We had one, didn't we? We have our freedom today, don't we? ( some smart alecks will say we don't ) You call this a civil war, others call it a war against terrorism. But back to the topic at hand - children and innocents get killed in wars. Always have and always will. War is hell. Gosh, I wish there were no wars...

Sarge,

We had our freedom before we revolted against England. As for our Civil War, it brought freedom to blacks only incidentally. Freedom was not the issue.

Our leaders call this a war against terrorism. In Iraq, they were clueless as to the civil war that would ensue when we removed the dictator that was keeping terrorists out of his country. Iraq is not yet liberated. An election does not make a free country.

Innocents do in fact always get killed in wars. That is not the issue. The issue is whether or not we should go on killing them.
