“I’m very sorry that our Latin American brother Hugo Chavez, our ... anti-imperialist comrade, a revolutionary, is facing such a difficult situation,” Morales said, wishing Chavez “a lot of strength, a lot of energy so that he can soon recover.” I know many people here may not believe it but actually many people south of the US border are looking for new ways to manage their economies, so Venezuela is just one example of 1 Latin country trying to stand up to the multinational super power Exxons, Shells, etc...of the world.

Shifting signals? The man is dying.
On a different note, Chavez is not that different from Lennon (V.I., not John) in that he had an accurate diagnosis (imbalance of wealth among a few eliete, mineral wealth but material poverty) of the economic ills and prescribed the wrond economic medicine (price controls, nationalization, political crackdowns on "enemies"). The man took an economy that was down, but with the potential for significant growth and drove it right into the ground. Some call him a revolutionary. I call him an idiot.

Yes, Lenin. Sorry for the mistake. I would like to blame autocorrect, but I did not use my phone. I guess I will blame "cognitive insufficency".....
