Seems that some people in the Secret Service are about to change assignments. Goodbye POTUS, hello chasing up photocopied US tender in backwards like Armpit, Mississippi.

You got punked, Secret Service. Filing needless charges against the people who showed your flaws might make you feel better, but won't change what they did. Punked!

  • bushlover at 11:34 AM JST - 28th November

What they did won't change the fact that they can be charged for it.

The Secret Service really was punked pretty severely here.

Also, the Salahi's must have astronomically large ones to have tried and pulled this off not just once, but several times, it would appear. But the fact that they were able to get that close to the president undetected on more than one occasion should be just the wake up call the Secret Service needs to make sure this doesn't happen again in the future.

Prosecuting this couple is sort of like kicking a stray dog for peeing on your lawn after you discovered you left the gate open. This is no one's fault but the Secret Service's.

The Secret Service really was punked pretty severely here. " Proves my point that we need to really get down on government workers. Too lazy and too complacent.

While some find this funny, it is really so damn dangerous. I hope they really punish the secret service, this is not just a simple human error. now if we think about it, they allowed JFK to be killed, I think Pres Regan was shot (please confirm), Bush had a close one, a shoe was allowed to fly at GW and now we have this.... Put the security details out to tender, then you will start seeing quality service.

This is one of the scariest incidents I've heard of in a while, it reminds me of how open the Lincoln's White House was. Scary... My question is WTH? We know there have been death threats against Obama from the start of his campaign, but we're just letting anybody get in to see him? Does this make any sense? Can the Secret Service please just try to do their jobs?

  • PepinGalarga at 02:25 PM JST - 28th November

not one but TWO shoes were flung at bush.

Secret Service is not the same as your grandpa's Secret Service.

i agree with Timorborder lot of heads will roll, and the lucky ones will be chasing bad checks in trailer parks, etc.

Well, my friends, right now I can not describe the envy I feel seeing this woman getting to shake the hand of the greatest, most wonderful politician of my lifetime, and maybe ever.

    I am soooo jealous.

"Federal law makes it a crime to knowingly and willfully falsify statements on matters within the federal government’s jurisdiction."

-that's a very weak statement to prosecute. If fact damn near any President or politician or member of the populace could be prosecuted with it. =Wasteful prosecution and I am against this form of socialism control by prosecution of law.

This couple humiliated a lot of people in the security establishment, and they will get their revenge at all costs.

If you ask me, security let them in, so there's no problem there.

  • DickMorris at 05:03 PM JST - 28th November

Probably Obama`s massive spending cuts caused this security blunder! Never happens under Republicans watch.

  • Sarge at 07:06 PM JST - 28th November

    Gombei - Har!

  • victimcrat at 09:29 PM JST - 28th November

    Punked.

And by Tareq Salahi, a Palestinian nationalist with ties to the "American Task Force on Palestine" (ATFP) , a pro-Palestine, pro-Arafat lobby demanding the "right of return" for all Palestinian refugees and their descendants.

    What a disgrace.

It won't be long before Obama invites them back for one of his White House lawn beer chats.

It's illegal to make a false statement to a federal officer/agent. Unless the politician is making a false statement to a federal officer/agent their lies are not illegal if it is told to the public.
