Kate looks healthy. I wonder why in Japan mothers are sometimes kept in hospital for up to a week after giving birth, whereas in other countries, they go home the next day.

For us, it was so that the nurses in the hospital could "train" the mother how to nurse the baby. It sounds absolutely ridiculous but perhaps there are people who don't realize that when a baby cries, it usually means that they are hungry or need to be changed...

Kate looks healthy.

Her stylist and hairdresserwere seen entering the hospital earlier in the day.

But in any case - they both look radiantly happy and depite the annoying hype, anyone who has ever had the experience of a firstborn child cant help but understand their excitement and emotion. I feel like the coverage has been done to death now (here in the US they were discussing earlier whether the appearance of the babys hand above the blanket constitutes a royal wave or not!!!) but I still wish them the very best as they grapple with the life changing experience of becoming first-time parents. Whoever you happen to me, it is a monumental change.

"I wonder why in Japan mothers are sometimes kept in hospital for up to a week after giving birth, whereas in other countries, they go home the next day." Maybe it has to do with medical costs? The average cost in Japan is around 470,000 YEN. (Tokyo 563,000 YEN) Under the Japanese national health insurance program, the government pays you 420,000 YEN per child. (deposits to your bank account or you pay the difference at the hospital, whichever you wish)

They keep you for 5 days, and if you choose your hospital well, the costs will be covered by the 420,000 yen. 5 days is completely appropriate in my opinion (I've stayed with my wife over the whole period), there are many things to learn and get used to, both the child and mother are monitored for any health problems. Go through the program and then offer your precious opinion

The length of stay in hospital is dependent on the reimbursement system. For example, in the US it used to be based on the stay so hospital used to be more cautious and kept patient longer but that change some decades ago to a procedural reimbursement system so hospital basically throw the patient put after a day or two. It will cost the hospital to keep the patient longer. The 2 day is more of an insurance standard in most parts of the world and I'm sure the UK adopted that system as outcomes were not effected. In Japan these things are controlled by the government and so is reimbursement. That $4000 or $5000 stay in Japan for 5 days will cost on average about $5000-$10000 in the US for 1 or 2 days. If the baby ends up in Neonatal intensive care.... $100,0000 is a good starting point and in Japan it will cost a 10% of that. Which system is better? Mortality in the US is double that of Japan. In the UK it will cost the parents about £ 2300 on average.

The royal's are parasites!

Why is the birth of another parasite a day to be celebrated?

Please allow this opinion to be debated -is it not valid?
