ROME —
An Italian woman who dodged death when she and her husband narrowly missed Air France Flight 447, was killed in a car accident just over a week later, Italy’s ANSA news agency reported Thursday.
Johanna Ganthaler, a pensioner from Bolzano-Bozen province, had been on holiday in Brazil with her husband Kurt and missed Air France Flight 447 after turning up late at Rio de Janeiro airport on May 31.
All 228 people aboard lost their lives after the plane crashed into the Atlantic four hours into its flight to Paris.
The Ganthalers flew out of the country for Austria on a flight the day after the jet went missing.
Mrs Ganthaler died when the car in which they were traveling veered across a road in Kufstein, Austria, and swerved into an oncoming truck. Her husband was seriously injured, ANSA reported.

I wish people would stop crapping on about fate. Honestly, I was just starting to believe the average person wasn't a moron and now this? If fate exists, please explain how it works and how the fundamental rules of physics, chemistry and logic somehow don't apply to it.
PS It's safer in the air than on the ground.

I doubt this has anything to do with fate, act of God etc... she missed the plane, and later on died in a car accident. More of a coincidence if anything.

Most of us will remember her at the airport with the born again bit. True she probably felt as if she was blessed or lucky. Unfotunately this time she really was done it.
Probably sad to those close to her, but that is life.

nothing predetermines events, all outcomes can be altered right down to the final second,action/consequence or inaction/consequence... Fate is used by the congenitally lazy to explain events conveniently..when generally events are more likely to be explained accurately inconveniently. Personal fate is alterable, as all smokers who have kicked the life shortening habit understand, fatalists believe that their dying day is predetermined so it won't matter if they smoke or not..Karma,if anything is much more closely aligned to the 'action consequence theory' than the 'everything is predetermined' theory.

everyone dies a week after they might have died because of, or been killed by, something else. Its just that it doesnt ALL get into the papers, and who knew, anyway.
