Dunga has had to fight really hard to get Brazil to play a more realistic (as he sees it) style. He has taken a lot of abuse from people in love with the myths of the Brazilian style, which they never usually lived up to anyways. He really stuck his neck out, and if they win he should get a lot of the credit. Of course if they don't win, the knives might come out very quickly.

With England two things. Capello has never been a national team manager before at an international tournament, club and national team management are very different jobs, and he has no experience with this one. Also maybe England players are just not that good. They all play on teams in England with some of the best players in the world playing with them making them look good.

Italy and France imploding not such big surprises. Italy is too old, and France has been a disaster for a few years now. Neither country did anything about their problems and now they are paying for that.

I agree with a lot of this, but you can't forget that in many cases we are dealing with some worse than average refs. Germany is still a very good team, and proved that in their first game. They got beaten in the second solely because they were not playing the other team, they were playing the Spanish ref known world-wide in soccer for giving out more cards than any other. I pray they pass on to the next level so that they can show themselves the strong team that they are, once again. Besides that, I agree with the article. France and Italy have been a joke, as has England, sad to say. Argentina, another favourite, has not been that bad at all except for the first game, but they still won it.

Brazil coach Dunga has set off a national debate with his shift to a more defensive style, and snub of the great Ronaldinho. Brazil, fans cried, isn’t Brazil without its trademark flair and free-flowing style.

While I agree with the fans, I'm glad they're working on their defense, it's more than time.

Brazil is winning. And that is a beautiful thing.

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion this was written by a Brazilian or a Brazilian fan? No - they did not play "pretty", AP Journo. Workamnlike is the best word we can use to describe it.

Buraku, this article was not written by a Brazilian fan. Because when you read the news or watch TV here in Brazil, you realise there are 200 million people who hates Dunga, i.e., the whole country. They say this team may be efficient, but they play horribly.
