Good luck to them, though I hope the fans aren't too downhearted if the team goes the way of elimination. According to NHK, expectations are sky-high even though half the teams in the tournament get through the group stage.

It's not helped by NHK spending much of an hour-long bulletin on the team's World Cup victories while completely ignoring the loss to the Netherlands.

Don't change the tactics, Okada The Great! Keep your boys doing what they do best - playing attacking, enterprising soccer. The Samurai will beat this rag-tag Paraguay mob - I have watched their games and they look pretty ordinary compared to the world-class superstars in Honda, Tulio and Endo. Samurai 2 - Paraguay 0.

I wonder if the lack of comments here is related to the fact that the comments regarding the Okada's prediction that the Samurai Blues would reach the semis were overwhelmingly negative. Lost your tongues have you:-)?

To be honest, I did not think that they had a hope either, but now...

There is a cultural psychological theory that the Vuvuzela are an advantage for Asian Teams.

I still don't think they'll get to the semi finals but that's just my opinion. Even if they somehow get past Paraguay, they will then have to play Spain or Portugal.

I guess there were no vuvuzelas yesterday then.

I think any positive effect the vuvuzelas might have had to help the North Korean side to a win, were overstretched by the scare, as soon as they began to go downhill, with their Dear Leader plugged in to his (I guess) wall sized screen back home, watching every move. I feel very anxious for that team, but Im pretty sure that the Sam Blues, with nothing to lose and great fun to be had - can win the World Cup.
