if this were america, that lady'd be dead right now.
and just think, other than that one lady walking that morning, 50 odd million others were walking quite safely. Like u said pal, there are wacko's in every part of the world. U cant take isolated incidences like these and label the country as dangerous, it just doesnt work that way.
duke is she were in "america" the cops would have caught the guy.

more nonsense...How on earth can we extrapolate that she would be dead if it were the US. AS for all the other people that DIDINT get attack, also nonsense.
The attack is the latest in a series in Aichi this year in which several schoolgirls have been attacked by a man or men with scissors and knives.
For you see these kind of things are happening everyday.
You cant look at the crime of one day and say , ahhhh only 100 crimes commited today..tomorrow is a new day, a clean slate...You add one day to another. Do you see where im going with this? Thats how they compile stats for the year.....Crime is rising, woman and children are being attacked on a daily basis.

duke: " if this were america, that lady'd be dead right now."
Why? Are knives sharper in the States?
I love how whenever something bad happens in the States, all the self-appointed experts on how dangerous it is, even those who've never been there, are out in droves to condemn it as the most dangerous, homicidal, god-forsaken place in the world. But when something like this happens in Japan, those people, and they know who they are, are either conspicuously absent from the discussion or they resort to the tired old defenses of Japan, like "what an anomoly this is", or "at least it's still safer here then in the States", or "she'd be dead if she were in the States", etc., etc. ad nauseum. All of which have nothing to do with this crime and would probably do nothing to make the victim feel any better about what happened.

duke: Expand your mind a little, dear. Not everyone carries guns in the States, at least not where I'm from.
"this sort of thing is much more prevalent in other countries,"
Really? If you're going to accuse natural of being factually incorrect maybe you could provide us with some evidence of the prevalence of knife attacks in all those "other countries".
"it across the entire country and deem it "dangerous", then go right ahead,"
Oh, so it's okay for you to do it to an entire nation but when someone else does it to Japan that's a source of derision. Curious logic. And again, not really related to what happened to this woman in Aichi or the other women in Aichi who've been similarily attacked. Though I'm sure they'll all sleep much better knowing that had they been attacked somewhere else they'd be dead now. What a comfort!

That is simply one of the most horrific stories Ive ever heard about. There are def probs in good ole Japan.....I hope that law enforcement officials can step it up. Families need to open up the lines of communication a lot more...The education system needs to reduce the stress for entrance exams..Companies need to reduce OT. Many things are needed to be done NOW! This is all to tragic.
Thanks for the link LEATHERS

I think there are serious problems everywhere. We can't say Japan is worse than America. It's happening everywhere people.

I'm not surprised it's Aichi. They have one of the highest crime rates in Japan.

That she was walking on the street when this happened?
Hello, people! She was a street walker.
My mother told me that those kind of people just attract the crazies. It's the same in America, it's the same in Japan, and it's the same in Aichi.
