And the goverment`s obsession with beating a dead horse takes yet another sickening turn.
No wonder the North Koreans want to turn the six party talks into the five party talks.

Among G7 countries, only in Japan could this happen. Absolutely pathetic and makes a mockery of NHK's claim to be an a publically funded independent broadcaster. Even the socialista BBC has more cojones than NHK

america comes a close second with its pressure on pbs.

I once saw martial law being enforced in Iraq on PBS. It was an eye opener. It was ugly. It really made you realize just how stupid it is to put teen-age jar heads in control of a people whose language they dont speak when they cant comprehend destitution after leaving their well supplied base. No other station had anything anywhere near that. I was impressed with PBS for a while, but never saw anything like that again. So, I kind of think this is true.
I dont think there are many non-biased and free from government control TV stations at there.
Moderator: Readers, please keep the discussion focused on NHK.

What really sickens me about this whole thing other than the obvious is the the world's media doesn't show what japan is really made of.
I guess the japanese govt has to drive it into the heads of the j-citizenry that they are the perennial victims of the international community even though we all know better. Sad how the j-govt makes fools of their own people when they go out in the real world and have to deal with real issues that the japanese citizens are not aware of.

Let's see - -
The Japanese governement tells the government sponsored & funded Media outlet to produce and broadcast programing it feels ( right or wrong ) is in the best interest of the citizens that elected them...
The US government tells non-government funded media outlets to "NOT" broadcast certain mews and programing that it feels is "NOT" in the citizens best interest...
Both Right ??? Both Wrong???
Me -
given the choice of one of the two evils - I'll take
Government Propoganda anyday over
Government Censorship...

just keep it out of the 6way nuclear disarmament talks. Use of the issue is more suitable in the UN in pursuit of a UNSC seat. Besides, the Japanese Govt. has FujiSankei tactically situated in NYC for logistics. Nuclear disarmament really doesn't need irrelevant topics emotionalizing the issue, tho it is smart if one is an ad exec.

If Senate confirmation isn't possible, Bush can simply use another recess appointment, and back he goes for another year.

at a high level. It was Mr Tsuda of Fuji TV news which allowed me to research FujiSankei further. There is a connection between FujiSankei and the Imperial Household. The UNSC seat coveted by Japan is being closely watched by the Japanese elite, thus that is why on an earlier post I was able to state, "they are not going to drop the abduction issue". This issue is the Japanese "silver bullet" to obtain certain objectives. It remains to be seen if this emotional issue can find an audience in addition to cash.

Ordering a public broadcaster to broadcast government propaganda is nothing short of fascism. I will never pay fees to NHK - I will leave Japan first.
