...Nessie, you're a bit slow on this one mate! ;-)
Already mentioned that at first post.
Freebird...."this was the body of a young man. Doubt it would be one of the shopkeepers."
Why not? Are you saying that young men can't be shop owners too?
I'm young and have my own shop!
(checks member is not missing)

Guess we were both a little late. Didn't stop to bother reading the other posts this time out.

No disrespect meant, but given the area, all the shopkeepers I've seen seem to be mid-40's or over.

were no longer attached to the torso so they must have been dismembered. I ain't sure; just pondering, but I wish people would no bring up such problems. I'm too old and tired to try to figger it out.
Maybe it's demembered or unmembered but will certainly be remembered by the unfortunate who finds it.
Whatever, I don't think it's any longer a member.

It is inappropriate to make mock of such an event until the identity of the victim is established, then if it is someone you dislike or do not know, it is fine to laugh.
Creepy in Japan.
These are stories out of Boris Carloff's novels.

I don't want to play the racial card but
this has all the hallmarks of a Chinese
triad. It's exactly the sort of thing they
do to someone out of line and often.
sny self-respecting tong would have delivered the remains to the family
'cos you hang out at motown bar.
First post right on I think. Just after we read about the Shinjuku merchant association stamping out Yak protection money they find a body in the middle of the street.
You figure its just a murder, the killer would be a little more subtle about it and try to hide the body?

My hunch is this crime was a suicide.
