Mental health care first, then prison to contemplate what silence is like. I swear, just watching video of her on TV made me wish for a sniper up in a tree with a clear line-of-sight.
And I'm a pacifist...

Rape and sometimes even murder cases in Japan receive shorter sentences, assuming that they grovel, apologize, and show newfound sympathy for the victim. I'm sure this woman is nuts and needs some sort of treatment or correction for her aggressive behavior, but prosecutors seeking three years in this case and appealing to get the sentence pushed higher when a year was considered not enough and then letting rapists and other kinds of sexual assault get out sometimes in even less time seriously calls into question the sentencing standards in Japan's justice system.

The sentence is absolutely ridiculous! I can see a very steep fine and what not, but prison?? I'm happy the police actually DID something for a change, instead of hassling the person who calls to complain, but still.

The ridiculous thing is not the sentence, she absolutely deserves it. The ridiculous thing is that she could do it continuously for 3 years without getting arrested!!!!!!

Does anyone else find the amount of damages awarded (2 million yen) weird? The guy who helped make buildings with substandard earthquake resistance got a little more prison time, but his fine was only 1.8 million yen! I'm sure loud music is annoying, and it's amazing that one of her neighbours isn't being sentenced for murdering her, but how come the fine is larger for loud music than for contributing to substandard buildings that may kill scores of people in the event of an earthquake?
It's not that the sentences or fines are necessarily ridiculous in all these cases we read about, but that they have zero consistency.

Exactly what J-Pop songs was she torturing them with? Could be a whole new category for the New Year's Eve Utagaisen.

I understand she was listening to K-Fed's album. Forced exposure to that is worth 5 years minimum.

When will the state step in to stop this mockery of the legal system? The woman was sentanced already. Sharia law would be envious...

posted a list of what songs they identified were being played by this noisy woman by what they saw on TV and what they heard from other TV watchers online.

She clearly needs some serious psychological treatment.
