EU did not comply with China's demand to lift the arms embargo on Jan. 18. I'm not sure whether Japan's urging EU not to do so affected their decision or not. But China's anti-satellite weapons test coincidentally reported on the next day would much rather reassure their decision.

on this forum claimed that the old Japan was gone. The new Japan is here.

I alway maintain that Japan never change. Just like a leopard can never change its spots.

They give you a wide smile and the next moment they stab you in the back. They have been doing this for the past decades.

well

china has as much right to express dissatisfaction, as japan has as much right to voice its concerns on the protection of its people.

but just watch out, if china and russia will acquire better weapons than the eu and the us, they will march through the entire world like alexander the great.

i'll stick to my grandfather's attitude, given a choice between two evils, i'd choose the one that will give us the chance to voice our opinion. thank you.

china will march through the entire world like alexander the great.

What make a country march through the entire world ? Land, of course. And what country needed land ? Small countries, of course. I don't think we can consider China as a small country.

Read PRC's constitution:
http://english.people.com.cn/constitution/constitution.html

Note how many times China describes itself in official terms as being "democratic".

Highlighting my point - repeating official dogma like "Taiwan is not independent" does not mean you will not sound like an idiot saying it.

One wonders if Mao was not liquored up rolling around laughing as he drafted that rag that passes for a constitution of the PRC.

Peace

Whether you're voicing your opinion or not, the US is already marching through the world like alexander the great.

What you need is a balance of powers. At the moment, it seems like the scale is tipped towards the US.

Although a bit of a backstabber, Japan does have the right to voice its concerns in regards to its security regime. Amending its relations with its Asian neighbours might have more of a stabilising effect though.

And Francois, I don't think

oops... the rest of it

I don't think...China has the tendancies of WWII Japan - militaristic expansion and absolute devotion to the emperor etc. so your paranoia is needless, exaggerated, and unsubstantiated.

by demonstrating its anti-satellite technology the next day. Basically, they are saying "screw the EU (and Japan), we are doing fine just by ourselves. Embargo just forces us to develop indigenous technologies. It is a good thing for China."

that was the opinion of my grandfather and father before me, and now it's mine.

i understand the us is also marching like alexander the great, still, my opinion and of those before me stands, i rather have the us march on me and lets me say something, and not annihilate me quietly, than be marched on other powers that would just shut me up without advance notice. thank you.

as to china not having the dream of acquiring other countries, read back its history, remember tibet and now taiwan?

and the missile shooting. they may have expressed regret or something to that sort, but they already have demonstrated their intentions, telling people to back off. just like iran telling the world in not so many words, china just did it with a missile.

that china expresses dissatisfaction on the arms embargo, while the majority of its people can't express their dissatisfaction on china? go figure.

Have you ever lived in China? If you had (among Chinese people, not in some insulated green zone among foreign expats), you would have known that people express their dissatisfaction (including that towards the government and officials) all the time. They may not have an armed uprising (as you wished - although that would be illegal in any country, Japna and the US included), but complaining and whining nonetheless. So please talk about facts, not rhetorics.
