Yeah, japan has the dreamed up ability to single handedly remove a permanent member from the UNSC.

Ohh, that's right, japan is on the OUTSIDE of the UNSC closed doors, trying desperately to look in.

japan and ODA

It's hilarious to hear japanese people still harp on the idea that China needs their puny ODA anymore. I guess this is due to the fact that japan as a whole has so little leverage and clout left.

If China doesn't give an answer to the anti-satellite test, japan will cut off all the remaining pennies of ODA. Wow China is shaking in her boots!!!

Agree with you just-a -guy.

20 to 25% of present modern infrastructure is directly connected to Japanese ODA.
Yes, funny.

Rearm Japan to the teeth now! Before it's too late!

The Red Monster is growing every day.

We've been lulled into a sense of complacency.

Demand !? What a joke

Did the rest of the world make 'demands' when JAXA dumped its heavy rocket missions to Mars and Asteroids for a more militant space program (small solid fuel rockets that can be quickly adapted as contential missiles)
Did they rest of the world make demands when Japan started to launch military spy satellites.....(except these ones exploded shortly after launch)

Talk about sour grapes, Japan is jealous of the success of China's space program

Also they contribute nothing to the ISS, and only sponge off the USA - instead charity from NASA and Russia must keep Japan's Geriatric space program afloat.

Not Jealous is paranoid

Japan has four spying satellite used to monitoring China 24/7/365. This is part of her missles defense systems, a card on hand to deal with China in a defiant manner. Now China shown an ace card she never expected is possible:
Anti satellite missle. Imagine how paranoid if a gambler 's gamble was lost!

Because they already have many times and the war ended almost 70 years ago. Korea and the Chinese need to get over it already.

The chinese are hypocrits. They demand that Japan maintain a pacifist constitution but at the same time the chinese build space weapons and threaten their neighbors.

It is unbelieveable that a country that waged war against United Nations forces in Korea has a seat on the United Nations Security Council. How the hell did that happen?

Yeah, Japan will never be able to create its own indigenous manned space program, one that involves sending some 5'2" airforce pilot to Russia for training and buying a used Soyuz space capsule. We are lost (weep weep weep) :(

Who cares about china's space program. Russia, US and China are only countries to send men to space. So what. If Japan, Britain, France or Germany wanted to, they could have had a manned program years ago.

But they didn't.
