McDonaldo is one of the only restaurants with no smoking sections in Japan. The workers aren't police. It is up to individuals to respect the no smoking rules. Your jealousy astounds.

has long deliberately targetted children through their advertising and promotions. It is astounding how they have long excaped prosecution when many other industries have been specifically enjoined from aiming advertising at children.

hehe takuan I'm not sure if you're being serious or facetious. I'm guessing you're being serious because it's an American company, but then again I'm not 100% sure. :)

It amazes me that some actually take the words of Super Size Me as gospel. That movie was so slanted, so one-sided, so non-informitive, that it was worthless.
I would love to see a movie like SSM that is balanced and challenged by opposing views.

I remember the Teriyaki burger tasting pretty bad.
I suppose it is all about moderation, and certain individuals incapable of moderation. You see it with food, smoking and other drugs, sex, money, etc.

McDonald's said it drew in more customers by marketing a healthier image, such as by offering more chicken and salad dishes.
Clearly the MegaMac sales had nothing to do with this. Running out of meat is bad for business, right? Not when it's all sales. I need one of those about now.

If I want to eat McDonalds, is that their fault? Hell no. I want that burger, either they provide it, or I go to someone who will. Healthy, no, but then if I want a burger, I don't want healthy, I want a burger.
How stupid are you to not get this?

It won’t take time before the obesity rate of Japanese people breaks record too.

with all the meat and butter being eaten in japan now, the slur バターくさい will lose its effect.
do i hear metabolic syndrome?
molenir:
if you want a burger, you can. but you have to realise there are 'healthier burgers'. you think the burger is good quality meat? good knows what additives are in the meat and bun. and the transfat?
people have a right to go to mcd's.
just as people have a right to smoke.
but it's a shame more people don't opt for the healthier things in life. stupid me, i still end up paying for national health insurance, which in turn goes to pay for preventable diseases caused by over-eating and smoking.
whatsgood:
no smoking section????
what have YOU been smoking? putting tables for non-smokers right next to those for smokers (which is what doutors do too) isn't exactly of any benefit. they might as well advertise the big-mac as being veggie-friendly, and asking vegetarians to remove any bits of meat themselves.
i have a little bit more respect for companies like starbucks and tully's who actually have the balls to keep smokers outside of the shop, or actually inside a separate room.

I have been eating a lot more at McDonalds since they gave the option of choosing a salad instead of fries in their value sets and introduced the "Mega Mac". Due to my low carb lifestyle (which I have lost a great deal of weight and feel much better!), McDonald`s new menus have been my saving grace for eating in Japan! The beef in burgers at McDonalds is 100% lean beef with no fillers (unlike most Japanese "hamburgs"), salads and the grilled chicken and tomato sandwitches are a definate welcome to the menu as well! Good for them for bosting their sales by offering healthier alternatives! Now if only ALL of the McDonalds in Japan could offer diet coke..getting kinda sick of ice tea!

... when in Japan there is this wide variety of healty tasty guilt-free food?
I understand native Japanese like the kick of foreign fast food every now and then (perhaps from watching US movies), but foreigners should know better.
Kinda going to Saudi Arabia and bringing your own gasoline, doesn't make much sense.
