400 items of women's underwear confiscated from Yamanashi man's home

HOKUTO — A 45-year-old man was arrested for stealing women's underwear from a laundromat in Yamanashi Prefecture, police said Wednesday. The man, identified as Yoshio Fukasawa from Hokuto, is alleged to have stolen more than 400 items, of which more than half were stockings. "I started stealing them three years ago," Fukasawa was quoted as saying, admitting to the charge. "I had a thing for women's legs and I enjoyed wearing them."

400 items of women's under wear...

Yes, joffal, this guy is sick.

But from what the article says, he is taking them from a laundromat not directly from the women's bodies. He isn't even invading their homes to steal their socks. Now, unless the article will be updated by the moderator to say that this man also invaded people's homes or wrestled the clothes off of people, then I would put him in the category of a crazy thief, not a sexual predator.

Okay, I can see what people are saying that he is only one shy of assaulting someone. But one shy of doing something and actually doing it are different.

If we get more evidence saying that he actually assaulted someone to take their naughty-bits, then he deserves the straight jacket and being accused of sexual assault.

But in this country that supports fetishism constantly through its explisive exploitive but legal comic books, just taking socks from the coin laundromat while the woman who put them there has left the unattended is no more sexual assault then the kids who steal candy from stores, or people who steal office supplies. Its stupid, and its wrong, and its punishable, but its not sexual assault.

I
would have to agree with most of the posters here who say this is pretty harmless. I mean let's be honest, how many of us here can say that they don't have some kind of sexual turn-on/fantasy -- threesomes, back-door, oral, public places, whatever?

Speak for yourself...! But you might at least, have had the single decency to mention an old favorite, the knee-trembler behind the woodshed.

Touching someone's leg isn't assault and it isn't sexual.
The Yomiuri Shimbun
A 32-year-old employee of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. was arrested Thursday on suspicion of molesting a 15-year-old middle school girl, police said.
Takashi Orita of Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, allegedly touched the girl's lower back on a municipal road in the city at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday when the girl was bicycling home.
Orita reportedly was dressed in a girl's school uniform. He admitted committing the act, according to the police. After being notified by the girl's mother that her daughter had been chased by a man wearing a skirt, the police questioned Orita after they saw a uniform blazer and plaid skirt of a high school in the city in his car near the scene of the crime.

This man didn't do anything sexual, but he is called a molester.
Isn't someone who violates the privacy of a laundry machine or basket to steal female under-garments a sex criminal?
He preyed upon women and many of them suffered embarrassment and humiliation upon learning that their stockings had been stolen and worn by a dangerous man.
If touching a lower back is molestation than the stocking thief must be guilty of molesting the women by repeatedly stealing from them

Damn!

Joffal, the incident you describe is IMHO far worse than the one in the article:

Frist the girl is underage. He is actually touching her which should already be a big no-no, and the sexual nature of the touch cannot be contested as the guy was in all-out fetish mode. I don't know what could have happened if the girl had not managed to get away. This guy definitely hits the danger signs in my head.

Our undies thief on the other hand did not actually come in contact with any of his victims, and i'm not sure if even all of them realized they got robbed. Whatever trauma there is , I don't think it's too bad.
Appropriate penance for this guy would be for him to go and personally give back all the stolen items to the victims (or their boyfriend/husband) one by one with an apology.

But that might titillate him further?
'specially if he's in drag... no?

Until recently most female high school students had to show their underwear to teachers during uniform checks.
I think that Japanese females are far stronger than most posters assume.
I can't understand why the underwear thief gets chuckles and a man who merely touches it a danger to society.
The man who touches may turn to rape and the underwear theif may turn to cars and banks.
Japanese females are brought up to be stronger than American women. The fear and hysteria isn't necessary here.
Many Japanese middle aged men are perverted to varying degrees. In American many middle aged men might turn to drugs, liquor or violence.
In my opinion the underwear thief is a thief and the many that dresses as a high school student a nuisance.
Many of the prudish posters are hypocrites for saying their are no victims in the crimes committed by the underwear thief.

There are victims in these crimes

And it's not nice to have your underwear stolen, but the only crime that can be said to have been committed is theft. What he did with it back at his own house is just a part of your imagination. If he used it for sexual gratification and that makes it a sex crime, if he'd spray painted it would that make you a victim of graffiti?
I think you must agree that touching underwear while someone is wearing it is a lot worse than stealing it when it's on their clothes line, which in Japan you can often reach from the street. Would you be just as happy for a homosexual to aggressively touch you up on the train as for him to steal your underwear from your clothes line? I think not, and I think most people would have a good laugh if they knew a gay guy had stolen their underwear.

Maybe not a good laugh but my wife shrugged it off with a smile.
They caught the kid too. Had another woman's brassier tied around a tree with socks stuffed in them.
I guess if he'd been able to get the panties around it somehow he would've.
I was pleased she didn't want the cops to make a big fuss about it.
Ah well, no real harm done. Just a lot of embarrassment.

I mean I like underwear when there's a sexy lady just slipping out of it in front of me. But panties without a body in them?? Don't get it.

Looks like some Japanese men's needs are not being met. I say bring on the used panty vending machines.... It will kept this guy off the streets and maybe keep down the Enjo Kosai since the girls make a little money too.
