Somehow the Japanese are going to twist this issue and turn Japan into the victim and the Vietnamese into criminals.

I think there will be alot more such law suits coming up in the future. The entire scheme seems to have been nothing more than trying to obtain slave labour. It will be interesting how the Govt and media try to spin these.

Wow, where are all the Japanophile Toyota worshippers today? Surely that most magnificent organization doesn't engage in such practices? Japanese wouldn't use people at slave wage rates, would they? I can't think of any historical precedent for such an outrageous exploitation of their fellow Asians...

Whole story needed

Sad to see the rather quick rush to judgement. Now, if this were any other non japanese company besides toyota, let's say a western company, the same ones quick to judge all japanese would then say, not enough facts are known, wait until the whole story is told, example of japanese "bias" in the media, etc. etc. Yet with hardly any substantial information, people automatically assume that this subcontractor of toyota (yes a subcontractor, not toyota per se) is guilty of wrong doing.

Disgruntled workers sue corporations all the time on this planet. Some have legitimate issues, others don't. Until we know the whole story, let us withhold judgement on who is right and who is wrong. After all, do we not all believe in that most cherished of bill of rights, innocent until proven guilty?

Right on brother! We are of like mind, too bad some can see it for what it is.

gogogo- "30 million yen is nothing, pay it toyota."

Actually I hope they don't, or don't anytime soon because if they keep fighting it there is the chance that this story will garner attention throughtout the international media.
