An amazing story, that one. Talk about luck. Members of a crack Australian ski-rescue patrol on a ski holiday in Japan, taking all their gear as a precaution because they were heading off the well-worn paths, and they come across a group of Japanese hikers hit by an avalanche and proceed to dig as many of them out as they could, saving numerous lives. You'd want to buy a lottery ticket after that one, that's for sure.
Well done to these brave Australians. Right place, right time is not always sufficient; these Aussies also had the right attitude. However right time, right place and right attitude still are sometimes not all that is needed as we saw with that brave Japanese policeman last month (RIP) who died trying to save a suicidal women. Respect for all the people out there who selflessly risk their lives for others TrinK
