aren't we? I directly addressed chimpsahoy's assertion that Mayor Ito died because of lack of first aid attention from passersby....in this case it would not have helped.
so don't even have the gaul to suggest it doesn't exist.
We weren't talking about that, to my knowledge. No gall involved.
Why are you answering for someone else anyway?

Sorry, it's just that, it was a great opportunity to use the word gall.

Getting your car dented or scratched and then demanding outrageous sums with threats of violence is a tried and tested way of making money out of individuals and/or public officials.
Itami Juzo's movie about the hotel (Mimbo?) went a long way to exposing and stopping this kind of behavior/behaviour. Then he uncharacteristically 'committed suicide'.
Yakuza like to make out that they have a set of rigid morals.
But. Cowardly act number one. He shot the man twice in the back, calculating exactly where his heart would be. Cowardly act number two, he tried to run away. This man has now sullied the 'good' Yakuza name twice. Maybe he will not be safe even in prison...

he said that the pointy men weren't doing their jobs, he drove into a hole and totally wrecked his car, then went to city hall demanding a new car.
What'sgood Very true, not many chances to use the word 'gall' :-) Have a good evening :-)

If he survived long enough to get to the hospital and undergo an operation, then his heart was NOT "torn in two" It seems more likely he died from blood loss as was reported earlier, either that or from a combination of blood loss and trauma from the bullets. And as sad as it is to admit this, had he been shot in the US, it might well have made a difference.
When you've been shot, being near a trained trauma team, that is unfortunately used to seeing and dealing with gunshot wounds is much better then being near a trauma team that may have read about them in medical school, but otherwise has no practical experience dealing with them. As for putting coats on the person. Good for dealing with shock, not so good for dealing with gunshot wounds. Always, always, always apply direct pressure to the wound.

Headlines all over the U.S. refer to this story as an assasination plain and simple. When comparing stories written around the world, they all state that this is what has happened. Truth? Every journalist can't be wrong.

heartbeat at the scene....they did CPR and bagged him all the way in, and put him on a heat-lung machine at the hospital when he got there and tried to repair the damage but it was too great.
Direct pressure was not going to help this man.
Doesn't anybody here actually watch the news? The doctors had a press conference and gave a detailed account of how he was brought in with no heartbeat.

Very fair question. Perusing the various threads, comments etc.,it is clear that most do not and seem to derive all of their "news" from this portal.
many seem to have no clue as to what is being reported in the domestic press, or foreign newspapers.
whether this was Nagasaki, NY, or whereever, 2 bullets to the heart are usually fatal, unless you're Jack Bauer.

They showed a picture of the underneath of his Toyota with some dents in the undertray. He demanded 600,000 yen to fix it, then gradually escalated to 2.8 million.
The worker who was helping him turn the car around said he had shouted at him to stop but the guy seemed to deliberately drive his back wheel into the hole. Thus the city office were refusing to hand out a large bundle of notes to him, according to the news.
originally reported that he 'backed into a hole' but they did say it wasn't extensive damage. He had not much to complain about in the first place.Well if the back end needed to be realigned, and he was going to get it done at a dealer, it might have been 60 man...I whacked the left rear of my car (too tired to be driving, learned my lesson) and the dealer wanted 39 man to repair it, I had it done at the local CarConbini for 17.
Yes, when they didn't pay the 60 man he started demanding a new car. That is very common with these types (yakuza etc) the smallest ding and they demand a new vehicle. My husband, on a rainy night, slipped and hit the car in front of him, the man started demanding a new car even though my husband was going at less than 20 km (provable by the intact front grill strut in the car he was driving). He had his accident right in front of the koban which is all that saved him from being sued. The officer who witnessed the accident filed a report that the front end of Hubby's car had dipped, which means he had applied the brakes. The man he hit filed a report to the police to try and get them to bring charges up against him, saying he never hit the brakes. MIL make a scratch on someone's car at the supermarket and they demanded she repaint the whole car...we negotiated a settlement with that person. Some jerks see a car accident as a chance to make some money.
The assertion that the car was 'wrecked' was the killer's own description to city hall etc.

The yak go out of their way to make casses like this with the car. Even so far as to take junkers and drive around waiting for a nice car to pull up behind. They hit the side break and the rear car slams in this is how they scam the insurance. Same thing with the pot hole. In the middle of they day or even at night they pull these stunts becouse the city or the Yak ran construction Co is responsable for a passive construction site.
Now you see how these little girls react the guy couldnt even face his target and had to shoot him in the back. The only thing the yak has is numbers and even 3 or 4 of them are not frightning.
You always see the drive by and its a wild shot at a door or a window. Whats more the Jnitors would be pissing down their legs if they had to subdue someone with a gun and some balls.

As Prime Minister Abe has stated quite clearly, the foundation of democracy in Japan is at stake if this type violence against public officials is not held in check by not only Japanese citizens but by foreigners as well, who have a stake in a democratic and peaceful Japan. The last thing Japan needs is a "Taliban" regime.
