I bet one of his buddys is supporting him and hiding him. Why aren't they staking out his family and friends?

How do you know they're not?
I think LetFreedomRing is right, sooner or later someone will find him, or what's left of him.
As I wrote in another forum, Tatsuya Ichihashi once approached my girlfriend in a bookstore in Shinjuku. Same questions (english lessons, and .. portrait...) Imagine how I immediately felt when she told me that later on.
I saw a guy 2 weeks ago that looked like him. I followed him, and took a pic of his face, then went to the police. I tell you this: they were no good, and I think they have nothing at all. Showing this pic
now is ... useless.
As I was heading to the station last week, a bobby stopped me (identity, passport, why are you here, where u go), and it really pissed me off. It's like tgose guy have nothing else to do. They ride their bike, and they're happy to bother geebs like me. I had to show the emails chiba police sent from my keitai to get rid of him. What a joke! Train the police, give 'em a brain!!!

he will never be "caught". After the statute of limitation is up he'll emerge a wisened yakuza and do some easy prison time for an unrelated crime furthering his yak credentials. Everybody in the know (including j-cops) knows he is being holed up and protected by yaks. In return, he will give the yakuza his undieing support till death.

Stupid J-police, why didn't they release these photos from the very start? Makes you wonder how much infomation they are sitting on so they can slowly release it making it look like they are working on it when in fact they have no idea.
perhaps they are doing this over time to keep it in the public mind. if they told everything at the start then i think it would easily be forgotten.
Old saying "out of sight out of mind"...

I agree, I think he probably offed himself within a few days of his crime.
Another thing, maybe the J-cops should hire all the Junior Detectives who post on this site. If they were as smart as these guys, every criminal would be caught, right away.

I think that releasing such photos (moving?) is a bl--dy good idea, all things considered, and not withstanding the due criticsm which might levelled for missing the freak on the first day.
Where can such photos be viewed?

Ichihashi's dead. He probably killed himself in some remote mountain area and no one has happened to stumble across his body. Suicide seems to be the usual final resort for cowards like him, which is no skin off my nose. Saves the taxpayers the cost of a trial. But it's unfortunate for the family of the victim, because closure will be harder to attain.Damn straight. Either that or he's in North Korea.

This video was shown on the evening news yesterday at 6:00PM and 7:00PM. In it, Ichihashi is seen preening himself admiringly in the elevator mirror, secure in the belief that no-one is watching.

lol 3RENSHO that's what we can all call 0wn3d. It'll be 0wn3d and then some if he gets caught now.
Why do people always bring up the yakuza here? I highly doubt they'd be stupid enough to take a guy like this in. He was a lazy freeloader and due to his high profile case, nothing but trouble for them and has jack all to offer excpet maybe some of mommy and daddy's money.

"....and has jack all to offer except maybe some of
mommy and daddy's money."
Isn't that the reason why people do EVERYTHING they do on this place called Earth?
