That's right. If you want a good quality pickup truck you want the Ford F series. Can't see Toyota matching that since they nearly have to bribe people with a hefty rebate.

actually the full-size u.s. truck market has been in a slump all year long. I'm sure the fact that gas is more then $3 a gallon has nothing to do with it...

Hmmm.... $3,500 rebate for Toyota plus its quality vs. $3,000 cash-back for Found on Road Dead F-150...

that's a struggle...

Nah... then again, I'm happy with my Lexus RX...

Ahhhhh kwabish kun, the angst oozes forth I see. Ford F-Series sold 850,000 units in 2005,(haven't 2006 data). Wanna be truck maker Toyota didn't even come close to the top ten seller list.
Now what was that you were saying about quality?

kwabish- You know what I mean, do try to take it like a man.

BTW you are comparing apples to oranges. A pickup truck is a pickup truck. A SUV is a SUV. Just thought I'd state the obvious there since you've compared the two.
Glad you like your RX, most of the parts were made in America and assembled there as well. BTW, just my opinion....it's not a very good looking vehicle.
"But the latest step shows Toyota is struggling in the full-size pickup truck segment, which has been dominated by its U.S. rivals —"
It will be interesting to see if Toyota will give up or try more aggressive head hunting and try to acquire the Ford, Chevy, Dodge engineers and designers to help them along.

Actually, my Lexus was built at the Takaoka plant, specifically asked for it that way, since the Cambridge plant had not been on-line that long.

The RX overseas production doesn't take place in the States, like you state it does. Let's give credit where credit is due, it's Canadian, not American.

My humble opinion non-North American auto manufacturer models looks a lot better than, let's say, the ugly Jeep Liberty or Ford SUV's, and the interior is FAR superior than the full plastic console/interior GM, Ford or GM SUV's.

Again, what angst?

I'm happy with the products I buy.

Taking a page out of your replies, "Ford trucks VASTLY outsell Toyota trucks", and must really contrbute to the $12.6 billion net loss for 2006. Says alot for management.

"Oooooohhhhh, the angst."

LOL
