I imagine you must be fans of crap, generic, cookie-cutter bands like matchbox 20, bon jovi, etc

I imagine you must be a fan of kletzer-metal.

Well...Am I close?

At the risk of stating the obvious, it's kletzmer music...

...played in the heavy metal style. It was a dig at your accusations of parochialism.

to answer your first question, no. Im not into kletzer music. I fail to see how pointing out crap music is being parochialist, but if this type of over-produced, by-the-number, for the masses fast-food is to your liking, well....whatever floats your boat.

so then, what do you recommend as an antidote to cookie-cutter over-produced music?

the underproduced, dodgy musicianship of indie bands?

or perhaps charles mingus?

btw, is the kletzmer music you referring to the same as "Klezmer music" as described on wikipedia?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klezmer

I have never heard of the term, but have probably heard examples of this music in the past not knowing what category it falls under. The music actually seems pretty interesting to me, so thanks for the info. :) Not so sure about the metal version though...

Good lord, people, get a sense of humor!

Horse, you started by implying that other posters have parochial tastes, such as liking Matchbox 20. You made this implication without bothering to inquire as to the actual tastes of the other posters. To draw your attention to this oversight on your part, I lampooned your tastes by suggesting that they're so-unparochial that you enjoy klezer-metal, a genre that I made up for its sheer absurdity.

So I'm not accusing you of parochiality, I'm accusing you of posturing as a sophisticate while assuming parochialism on the part of other posters. For the record, I don't listen to Matchbox 20.

Your reasoning in that last post left my parochial head spinning! In fact, I AM a sophisticate when it comes to music and have absolutely no sense of humour when it comes to bad taste. Whether or not you listen to Matchbox 20, you are guilty of showing affection for B'z. You can't argue with me, because I ,in fact, do have the coolest taste in music in the history of fandome.

I can argue with you. Re-read the thread. I haven't shown any affection for B'z. In fact, I called them "shite." There you go again assuming other people's tastes.

You clearly showed affection for "Tak's" guitar-playing. Guilty!

"I'll give the guitar another listen.", (Nov. 20, 19:05 to be exact) Perhaps you might want to re-read what you write down these days, since you ask people to re-read your posts so often. personally, I don't have to re-read things so often since I have a pretty good memory and hate to waste my time re-reading. Re-reading is kinda silly when you think about it, really.
You love B'z!

I said the songwriting is shite, but that, at the behest of another poster, "I'll give the guitar another listen." This does not prove I "love B'z."

According to your logic, if I said your postings were shite but that, at the behest of another poster, I'd give them another read, that would mean I love your postings.

At this point it seems clear that you're willingly misreading me or just stirring the pot, so I'll leave you to soldier on by yourself.
