Brilliant.
That's me and the littlun off down the park poast haste, then.
See yer!
I just got in from the park with mine. We had a blast. Made a snowman, threw a few snowballs, got the obligatory clump of snow from overhead down the back of the neck...everything. Reminded me of Minnesota. Damn I can't wait to go skiing next month!

We just got in from the cold too. It was 2 year old DS's first snow experience, since there wasn't really any snow last year. Fun fun fun, reminded me of snow days when I was a kid.

Well. what a brilliant day that was. I'm drenched, knackered, freezing and starving, but the best fun I've had in years.
Now for an invigorating brandy.
Merry February all!
Check out the pic of the day. That's what we were out playing in. Yeah, good times.
I still can't feel my toes.

Although infrequent snowfall really is more inconveniencing to people as they aren't used to it, reading this makes me envious after having made 4 snow shovelling trips outside in the last two days, for the 3rd or 4th time this winter.
maplesugar - good stuff, my 2 year old has had several snow days now and just loves them, and I agree 100% that it reminds me how much fun playing in the snow is.

Looks like you got about the same amount of snow as we did up here in Chiba - and it didn't stop coming down until about 4pm. Not only did I have a great time with thelittlun, but just out ofmalice I made a trip out tout seul and erected a four foot high totem of a full set of male genitalia on the lawn of the nearby university, having signed in under the name Phallus Giganticus.
Something about the snow just brings out the little boy in me.

Just getting that one out of the way.
Did you sign your sculpture in yellow "ink?"
Sounds like it would have been fitting. ;-)

On the way to the station today I saw several new candidates for the Darwin awards. The ground in lovely Chiba was iced over like a skating rink. Only the road has only a few moments where it is actually flat. Most of it slopes off to one or another direction.
Now on this lovely stretch of ice there were several girls in high pin heels. Of course having a very, very hard time walking. And through all this comes some genius on a mamachari sliding around in ways that threatened nearly everyone else on the road.
How much common sense does it take to realize that snow, and ice are dangerous to walk or ride bikes on? Put on some real shoes, get off the bike and walk and be careful.

I think you forget that this is Japan.
Common sense has a different meaning here.

Serious misnomer. It is far from common.

lucky it was all but melted today, at least where there's traffic.
Those hurt are usually elderly people, they should wear better footwear.
