There's always the option of choosing not to eat produce from any chickens, then you're pretty sure you're avoiding the tortured ones.

Except that I really like egg based products. So not an option that I'm willing to take.

The good news is that supermarkets and some producers in England are making changes based on the Jamie Oliver show. It shows that public pressure can change things. (Even if it is just a little.)

Aussie and NZ beef (and lamb) comes from cows (and sheep) that graze in pastures. I have no problems eating that.

I did see a Jamie Oliver special about how most chickens are raised and in most cases it is just obscene. Better labling to let the consumer decide would be a step in the right direction, but actually one eats egg products in a variety of ways that you don't necessarily know where the egg comes from (eg. mayonaise). So in reality it is difficult to avoid eating produce from tortured chickens.

I don't go in for organic farming either. Not convinced it does anything except put food prices up.

Yes, cut the subsidy. Wasteful to the extreme! If people want to have this food they should pay full price for the luxury!

Is anybody going to question why the guy stole the baby. Seems to be the bigger crime here. Or are we all going to be indignant about the silly Mum? Must have been terrible for her.

Someone get a box for Gilliam to stand on. Gilliam's "Brazil" has to be one of the best films ever.

An agreement was made for the benefit of Japan (move to more remote place) and Japan wants to reneg on the agreement because they want to appear tough? Silly really.

Who save who in the movie? I've seen it and it looks to me that the white macho guy is saved by an appreciation of nature by the blue people. So maybe it is racist against white people. Dunno

This guy has always looked like a Japanese Thom Yorke to me.

Does he have a lazy eye?

Tamura does have a snazzier hair style than Amuro. Proof that you don't have to be gay to have a top notch hair dresser.

Ha ha. Umm don't think so. I think he's under the delusion that long hair looks good on a guy.

That's a good thing! The old Chinatown was expensive and not very good food as far as I'm concerned. Too much emphasis on 'exotic' food.

The posters here don't know what they are talking about. Fuji in winter has similar conditions to the Himalayas during the climbing season, which is why it is used as a training ground for Himalayan climbers.

Good on ya Bob. Come and milk the cash cow before retirement. Wise move.

Yeah, right. Bob's been touring over 100 days a year since 1988. I don't think he's doing it for the money.

My source: Nisshin / Meat Rush in Azabu-Juban. I think it was about Y4400 and it was a nudge below 7kg. Imported from the US. But that's better value than I've seen elsewhere.

I don't know why but the KFC in Japan all seems to be dripping with fat compared to other countries. Can't say I really like it.

    the sicilian

you can go to Jimmy's and get a real turkey for Y10,000 or more. And it's only about 5 Kg.

    That's a rip off! I paid a little over Y4,000 for a 7kg turkey yesterday in Tokyo.

Haven't they got better things to do? Who cares if some entertainers get high on e every now and again? They should focus on crimes that affect other people...

herbivore men are men who generally have no self-confidence or self-respect and who have generally given up on impressing women. Pathetic really. But this is natural selection at work because these guys will never have any children.

I think she is looking for someone who has self-confidence, but who are gentle in relationships. Not a bad wish.
