hooowha?? The companies are angry?
...while unemployment skyrockets? Hmmmm. Maybe Japanese workers are tired of being shafted. No thank you karoshi companies! This must really make the big monolithic J companies scratch their collective heads.

"Stabilize" the economy? On the contrary, it would just kill it off completely. People will always vote with their money, and money will always vote for the greatest values. From black market to barter, the market will as$ign values to every human activity dealing with goods and services. Exchange rates are set by what supply and demand perceives as a good/bad bet in the future. Fixing rates is like sticking your head in the ground, with your end game up in the air.

Obviously he didn't get accepted into the group.
How? The only way to prevent "similar occurrence" is to issue empty guns to the officers.

" This nonsense from Aso about religion and work ethic is just another example of clueless leaders leading a repressed and politically zombified people.
What Japan needs is higher productivity, shorter work hours, more time with family and a return to social interaction and values. Not being put on some imaginary pedistal to shine for all to see."

The Japanese educational model continues to produce hapless youths with no hope for the future. This program, if done right, could help change that. Farming used to be a group activity in Japan involving many generations of knowledge that got kids involved at an early age. That generation and knowledge base will be gone soon. So, finally it appears the J-govt "gets it".
As suicide and job related mental illness is on the rise in Japan, working the land is just the kind of medicine that can heal the stressed urban soul and give greater meaning to life. What could be more meaningful than producing and providing the very substance that sustains life?
Its way past time to get back to the land. This program is preferable to massive job programs building roads and paving swamps for nothing. Agriculture is both craft and art form in Japan, but the mentality about farming in Japan, as work for "uneducated people who cant do anything else", will be the greatest impediment to success.

What is he thinking? Is he even thinking? What makes this party hopping, comic book reading JPM the priest of hard work? Is it because his family ran a coal mine and used Koreans as slaves during World War II ?
The Bible encourages hard work as normal, but condemns those who work in vain for false materialistic gain. Did the WASPs who settled the North American wilderness do it by studying Japanese religion? Did their work ethic come about by studying the Kojiki?
Proverbs 6:6 :"Go unto the ant, O slothful one, See her ways and be wise."
Ecclesiastes 9:10: "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."
Ecclesiastes 4:6: "One hand full of rest is better than two fists full of labor and striving after wind".
The implication is that hard work is normal, but that excessive workaholism is damaging. The unnecessary work stress, emotional problems and "karoshi"that Japan is infamous for, is not normal.
I am deeply offended by Aso's remarks and I demand an apology. He should resign immediately.

"Hamas and Hezbollah have played the spoiler role with great glee, provoking and poking at Israel, and when it responds with attacks, trumpeting that only they defend the Palestinians..."
This is a game the Palestinians love to play. They are like little children who throw a tantrum and the rest of the Arab world is the pampering parent. They are the international victim of "aggression" every time Israel is provoked to action. How come they are never the victim of their own culture of jihad and death? ( *Death to America ! Death to Israel ! & Death to anyone who doesn't submit to their demands *) The militants fire rockets from crowded neighborhoods with the intent of killing Israelis and hide behind women and children as sheep to the slaughter for their violent end game. Why does the world tolerate such intolerance give them such a free ride?

Wake up call. Biofuels & wood are renewable. Time to set ourselves free from fossil fuels, but society will have to change long held beliefs & expectations based on consumerist fantasy & convenience. We have to slow down and realize our humanity & limitations.
